OLAJIDE KESHINRO EMERGES NEW ‘OLUMALE ELUKU’ OF IGBOGBO KINGDOM, AS OBA KASALI REOPENED ELUKU SHRINE. | Shakiru Seidu.
Few weeks after the removal of Mr Shakiru Sanni as Olumale Eluku, the Lantan Onanusi Family of Igbogbo, under the able leadership of Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, the Olotu Ebi of the family, has installed Chief Olajide Keshinro of Torobiowu Branch of Lantan Onanusi family, as the new Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom.
The Olotu Ebi and other principal members of Lantan Onanusi family, resolved that the choice of Keshinro is the best for the family and Igbogbo community, noting that Keshinro will uphold the tradition and culture of the land and represent Lantan family very well before the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.
The installation was done at Chief Odofin's Palace, in Itun-Abosan Ward, Igbogbo, on Saturday, June 8, 2024, in the presence of representatives from the three branches that constituted Lantan Onanusi Family Igbogbo, (Saogun, Torobiowu and Amoju branches). Others in attendance were members of 'Ijashi Ilu', Eluku Chiefs and prominent Eluku Shrine Stakeholders.
Also, Mr Tajudeen Pelebi Ishola, was installed as 'Iware Eluku', Mr Kayode Ijeni as 'Ibikeji Olona' Eluku and Mr Murisiku Ajadi Olujare as 'Ibiketa Oniise' Eluku respectively.
While addressing the gathering, the Olotu Ebi Lantan Onanusi Family, Odofin Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, expressed displeasure towards the former Olumale Eluku, Mr Shakiru Sanni, reiterating that Sanni has grossly abused and disregarded the doctrine and integrity of Eluku deity.
He therefore charged the newly installed Chiefs of Eluku deity, to rededicate themselves to the sustainability and protection of culture and tradition of Igbogboland. Adding that the ego within the family must be jettisoned for unity to prevail among the family members.
In his remarks, Chief Omotayo Sotomiwa, one of the leaders of Ijashi-Ilu Group, appealed passionately to the leadership of Eluku Deity to be properly coordinated and work together as one, in the interest of Igbogbo community.
He explained the commitment of the Ijashi-Ilu Group towards the protection of culture and tradition of Igbogbo Kingdom, and urged those claiming Menden group to respect the pronouncement of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom on the group.
Meanwhile, the next day, Sunday, June 9, 2024, with the instruction of His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, the Osugbo Abalaye Group went to reopen the Eluku Shrine, which was shot down few months ago by Kabiyesi, due to the unguided and disrespective manner of the former Olumale Eluku, Mr Shakiru Sanni.
The new Olumale Eluku, Chief Olajide Keshinro, was thereafter handed over the keys of Eluku Shrine, and charged to fortify and unify the Eluku Deity Stakeholders in no distance time. He was thereafter led to Osugbo and his house with family members and leaders of Eluku Deity.
