A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Nurudeen Sholaja- Saka, has distributed additional 7,000 relief materials to his constituents to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. He has earlier distributed 3,000 food items for his constituents in the month of April.
The MegaXpression Community News reports that Sholaja- Saka, representing Ikorodu constituency II at the State Assembly, distributed the items on Friday for the vulnerable, youths, religious and political groups, CDAs, Market men and women across Ikorodu Constituency II.
In an exclusive interview with the MegaXpression News, the lawmaker said the gesture would also help in bringing relief to the people of his constituency during the holy month of Ramadan. He urged the recipients to use the items to improve their standard of living and those of their family members.
Sholaja-Saka called on the people of his constituency and Nigerians in general to respect the 'Stay at Home Order' by the government and maintain social distancing as well as other preventive measures to avoid the spread of coronavirus.
He also called on the people to continue to pray for God’s intervention on the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. The lawmaker assured his constituents of quality representation at the State legislature through execution of people-oriented programmes that would have direct bearing on their lives.
Some religious, community leaders and recipients of the relief packs appreciated the lawmaker for the kind gesture, praying to God to bless him abundantly.
