Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland.

Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.

During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine, where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo Kingdom in the nearest future.

The Monarch said the only option is to take away the title of Olumale Eluku from Shakiru Sanni, warned him never to parade himself as one of the Chiefs in Igbogbo Kingdom again, and asked the Lantan Onanusi Family to present replacement to the Palace in no distance time.

"Shakiru Sanni is forbidden to use the title or parade himself as Olumale Eluku of Igbogboland. Individuals, families and members of Lantan Onanusi Family of Igbogbo should desist from ascribing the title of Olumale Eluku to him," the Monarch warned!

Oba Kasali thereafter dissolved 'Menden' Group and inaugurated 'Ijashi-Ilu', a body that is aimed at foreseeing any activities going on in any traditional institution, comprises of all 'Ile Awos' and youth in Igbogbo Kingdom. While Chief Adegbenro Fanuga and Chief Adeoye Obayomi were appointed as President and Secretary respectively.R-L: Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Odofin of Igbogbo, Chief Ayanilowo, Oluwo of Igbogbo and Chief Jelili Oduntan, Balogun of Igbogbo.

Chief Ayanilowo, Oluwo of Igbogbo, Chief Yaya Agoro, Apena of Igbogbo, among other top traditional Chiefs from all Shrines in Igbogbo were in attendance.

Also, members of his family, Olotu Ebi Lantan Onanusi Family and Odofin of Igbogbo Kingdom, Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Alhaji Wasiu Sanni, large number of Saogun, Torobiowu and Amoju branches of Lantan Onanusi Family, among many others were equally witnessed the pronouncement.
