Royal Fathers and the Liaison Council of Eminent Persons of Ikorodu Division, EPID, on Thursday presented an Award of Excellence to a Lawmaker, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR.

According to the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, while presenting the Award said the Award was in recognition of Benson's unprecedented achievements and invaluable contributions to resolute disposition about the plights of his Constituents.

The Monarch said decision to honour the Lawmaker was to encourage him to remain steadfast and do more for the people of Ikorodu federal Constituency.

"On behalf of the Eminent Persons of Ikorodu Division EPID, we present to you this Award of Excellence in recognition of your exemplary performance since assumed office. This is in our own little way of supporting and encouraging you for all you have been doing for your Constituents. We thank you for representing us very well", the Monarch stated.

In his eloquent reaction, shortly after receiving the Award, the erudite Lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, who thanked the EPID for the invaluable Award, said, "I feel highly honoured to receive such prestigious Award of Excellence, for appreciating our own modest contribution to humanity.

"When an Award is given, it is an encouragement, it is a booster and energiser for the recipient in appreciation for what he or she has done. I also believe that an Award is a path to the future. It is not simply about what you have done in the past. It propels you to do more and I'll do more and more.

"I thank you all that gathered here today and the entire residents of Ikorodu federal Constituency, for the opportunity giving me to represent you at the National Assembly. The EPID Group has contributed tremendously to the socio-economic life of the people of Ikorodu Division," Benson remarked.
