MONARCH, COUNCIL BOSS, RESIDENTS PRAISE REP. BABAJIMI BENSON OVER FLAGS-OFF OF MULTIPLE ROADS IN IMOTA. | Shakiru Seidu. ...As Lawmaker Flags-Off Ori-Okuta, Seven Other roads.

The people of Imota community of Ikorodu federal Constituency, Lagos State, have commended Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, for embarking on road constructions in the LCDA.

The commendation was made during the flag-off of Ori-Okuta and seven other roads in Imota LCDA, where the traditional ruler of the Community, HRM, Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare Agoro, Ranodu of Imota, who spoke on behalf of the people, said they were overwhelmed with joy on Jimi Benson’s intervention on Ori-Okuta road, saying that, for decades, the road has being a major problem to the road users.

According to the traditional ruler, residents of Ori-Okuta community have been passing through a lot of hardship, especially during the raining season, due to the bad state of the road. 

Oba Agoro, thereafter  expressed heartfelt gratitude to Rep. Jimi Benson for his unwavering dedication as a representative, and for deeming it fit to construct the much-needed Ori Okuta road.

The Monarch further emphasized the need for community members to actively collaborate with the contractor to ensure the safety of the workers involved in the road construction. He urged the community to take ownership of the project upon completion by protecting and safeguarding the road.

In his eloquent remarks, the Chairman Imota LCDA, Omo'ba Wasiu Agoro, highlighted the tremendous efforts that went into convincing Rep. Babajimi Benson to undertake the construction of Ori-Okuta road.

He therefore thanked Benson for his kind listening in making the project a reality. He assured the gathering that the road is just the beginning, as more exciting road projects are in the pipeline for the LCDA.

Also, Hon. Nurudeen Saka-Solaja, Member, Eight and Ninth Assembly of Lagos State, appreciated Benson for his consistence and commitment to the improvement of infrastructure in Imota LCDA. The former Lawmaker further narrated the importance of Ori-Okuta road construction and pleaded for more projects in Imota LCDA.

Stating the significance of Ori-Okuta project as it will serve as link, not only from Shagamu but also for neighboring communities, such as Remo and even distant places like Ibadan. The CDC Chairman explained.

Earlier, the erudite Lawmaker, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, expressed satisfaction and joy over the unflinching supports bestowed upon him from the people of Imota LCDA, while equally emphasizing the importance of good roads on the economic development.

Benson, who was ably represented by the Director General of iCARE Foundation, Mayor Muhydeen Sanwo-Ola, explained that the roads after completion would also be decorated with street lights.

He appealed to the CDAs and youth to support the contractors throughout the project. While also extended his gratitude to the Ranodu of Imota Kingdom, for his unwavering support and cooperation.
