Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, his counterpart in Ogun, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and wife of Nigeria's Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo on Tuesday led thousands of friends, family members, colleagues and well wishers‎ to pay last respect to late Deji Tinubu who passed on last Thursday.  At a well attended lying in state and funeral service held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Victoria Island, Lagos, tributes, eulogies and tears poured in freely for Tinubu, who until his demise was the Special Adviser to Governor Ambode on Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives. Monday, 29th of January, 2018. the Council Secretariat of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA in collaboration with Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)  played host to the delivery of the relief materials to cushion the effect that the disaster had inflicted on the residents of the Unity Estate and Redeem Estate CDAs Igbo-Owore, in Igbogbo community. According to the report gathered by MegaXpression Magazine, April 2017, the communities witnessed a catastrophic flood which led to the destruction of properties worth millions of naira in that area. The Chairman of Unity CDA, Igbogbo, Alhaji Hafees Onipasantira, when questioned, narrated the ordeal of the victims of the flood disaster and efforts were made by the joint CDA to write the NEMA and LASEMA to come to their aid. All roads led to the African Church Bethel Cathedral Ikorodu, where all and sundry and the cream of the society converged to felicitate with Elder Timothy A. G. Okeowo, as he celebrates his 60th Birthday anniversary, on Sunday, 28th of January, 2018. Celebration of Birthdays is said to be a grace from God. Virtually the calibres of people who graced the ceremony without any iota of doubt were people of timber and calibre and this made the occasion glamorous. Fabrics and attires of different colours rented air and the guests were beaming with smile. The celebrant, Elder TAG Okeowo, wife and children were full of praises to the Almighty God for making the dream come to reality. When Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Magazine spoke with the celebrant's wife, Comrade Kehinde Okeowo, she thanked God and gave special tribute to him for the care and love showed on her husband and the entire family. This is certainly not a good time for the Tinubu family as another promising member of the family who also doubled as the Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Commerce and Industry, Mr Deji Tinubu slumped and died on thursday, 25 of January, 2018. It was gathered by MegaXpression Magazine that Deji, who was the former Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, died   during a novelty match in Epe where the Lagos State Executive members and other top government functionaries are having a Retreat. It was gathered that Mr. Deji Tinubu, Special Adviser on Sports before he was recently redeployed as Special Adviser to the Governor on Commerce and Industry  slumped in the field and was confirmed dead at Epe General Hospital. It will be recalled that a couple of months ago, the family of Tinubu lost a young promising lawyer who is the Son of the former Governor of Lagos state and key figure of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Deji Tinubu is said to be a nephew of Asiwaju Tinubu.

AMBODE LAUDS CANADIAN GOVT FOR DONATING $3.25M MEDICAL LAB TO LAGOS STATE. | Shakiru Seidu. Seeks Mutually Beneficial Partnership On Investment Opportunities.

Lagos State Government, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday lauded the Canadian government for donating bio safety laboratory worth $3.25million (about N951.3million) to the State Government, saying that the gesture deserved to be commended. Speaking at Epe while receiving the High Commissioner of Canada to Nigeria, Mr Christopher Thornley on a courtesy visit, the Governor also commended the Canadian government for partnering with the State Government in area of capacity building especially after the historic victory against Ebola outbreak in the State in 2014. Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday allayed the fears in some quarters that the electioneering activities in 2018 might slow down the tempo of infrastructural development being witnessed across the State, assuring that his administration will complete all ongoing projects and implement new ones.     Speaking at the opening session of a three-day retreat for members of the State Executive Council, Body of Permanent Secretaries and heads of government agencies and parastatals held at Jubilee Chalet, Epe, Governor Ambode said rather than allow campaign activities to relegate governance, the State Government would stay focused on plans and programmes for the people and ensure that steady progress was achieved.
