It was a rude shock to the people of Ikorodu Division when the news was broken that Hon. Mrs. Adebimpe Akinsola was affected in the Cabinet reshuffle of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode, barely 30minutes after he had a town hall meeting in Ikeja on Thursday, 11th of January, 2018. Different encomium had therefore been pouring on Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola for her excellent service delivery.
"The life that is worthwhile is that which is lived in the service of others. Without mincing words, Hon. Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola has made history with her track record of firsts and passion for her people. Definitely, her name is included among the progressives in Ikorodu Division and Lagos State at large, this was revealed by one of the Royal heads in Ikorodu Division.
When speaking with MegaXpression Magazine, the first Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Prince Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa said as the head of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the role and efforts of Maami, as she is fondly called, in achieving the vision of Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode for Lagos State in the Tourism sector can not be overlooked. Through her activities, handling of official assignments and dressing, she has promoted Arts and Culture which are two of the major tourism drivers in focus in Lagos State.
"Hon. Mrs Adebimpe Akinsola has done Ikorodu Division proud having worked tirelessly as a Lawmaker, in the Lagos State House of Assembly, 2011-2015 and as the Acting Commissioner and Special Adviser for the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, 2015-2017, before taking the position of Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, 2017-2018, she deserved to be honored," said by one of the APC Chieftains in Ikorodu.
When chatting with one of the traditional leaders in Igbogbo, Chief Odofin affirmed that, as a woman in the midst of intellectuals and technocrats at the State level, she went, she saw and she conquered.
"Hon Akinsola has been so tenacious and passionate about ensuring that Ikorodu Division is no longer short changed with regards to reaping the dividends of democracy. She is quick to encourage the involvement of this division in all the developmental plans in the state", Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Comr. Olusesan Daini revealed.
Otunba Dare Odufowokan in his comments, congratulated Hon. Akinsola for serving meritoriously. "She showed herself worthy of the positions she held and as such, should walk with her head high.
People held, and are holding positions without anybody feeling their impact; many are pretending to be working hard while doing nothing.
Thus, Hon. Akinsola should be appreciated for making us proud while her tenure lasted. Kaabo, Omo Odo rere," Odufowokan explained.
The Secretary of A+ Disciples, Dr. Olakunle Goodluck urged his fellow members to see the present situation as one of those travails of life with a resolve towards being more dedicated and focus on their vision and mission by making it come to reality. "When Stones are thrown, it's a wakeup call to brace up for real challenges by building shields around ourselves, he concluded.
The former Commissioner for Information, Lagos State, Otunba Sir Ayodele Elesho, in his eloquent remarks said it was very painful that Ikorodu Division has lost a position in the State cabinet, that is, the Executive Council of Lagos State Government.
"Definitely, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola has performed creditably well in office as Special Adviser & later Ag. Hon. Commissioner for Tourism, Arts & Culture, no doubt about that," he added. He therefore urged the leadership of Ikorodu Division to organize a "Welcome back home" reception for her.
When responding to this, one of the Aides of Hon. SOB Agunbiade, Comr. Abike Allison said "I hurts when you see your best hands been sidelined. Hon Akinsola served with passion for development and spirit of focus of a personality who knows what history is.
"I saw in her a visionary female leader, it hurts truly but she made this Division proud," she concluded.
