NUT IKORODU CHAPTER ON COURTESY VISIT TO HON. AKINSOLA'S OFFICE | Shakiru Seidu. "You are a good product of Lagos State", Fakolade tells Akinsola. "Ikorodu Constituency II has been a beginner for 12years in LSHA". -Akinsola.

An unscheduled visit was paid to the office of Acting Commissioner of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Lagos State, Hon Adebimpe Akinsola by the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Ikorodu Chapter on Friday, 18th of August, 2017.

The Hon acting Commissioner warmly welcomed the Exco which represented over 4,000 teachers in Ikorodu division. No sooner than they were officially welcomed, the NUT Chairman, Comrade Fakolade Oluwaseun Oluwafemi introduced the Exco.

He thereafter assured the acting Commissioner of the basis of their visit which centred on mere family meeting. He affirmed the track records and achievement of Hon Adebimpe Akinsola attracted their attention. Fakolade described the acting Commissioner as a true representation of Ikorodu division and a genuine product of Lagos State.

The NUT Chairman further said, "we anticipate building a cooperative house so as to eschew dependent on government always". He cited examples of some Senior Citizens who erected buildings and bought buses in some Local government and named such after NUT.

He therefore anticipated such gesture from the Honourable. He was so optimistic that Hon Akinsola will remain a figure of reckon if she would bolster every developmental project of the Union that are in the offing.

The visit which was officially covered by MegaXpression Magazine saw Hon Adebimpe Akinsola eloquently appreciated the visit of the Union and promised to give them adequate support whenever necessary. She did not hesitate to congratulate Fakolade's team for their landslide victory in the recent Union election. She affirmed that the Union former Chairman, Comrade Lateef Oduguwa was instrumental to her closeness to the NUT Ikorodu Chapter.

"Unhealthy politics of bitterness and hate speeches in Ikorodu division is inimical to the growth and development of the division", Hon. Adebimpe remarks with all seriousness. She further acquainted the Union that Ikorodu Constituency II has been beginner for about 12 years in LSHA which is not allowing firm strong base in the politics.

She therefore urged the teachers to be proactive, visionary and should endeavour to join politics but not out of desperation. She also applauded them for their active involvement in A+ Disciples which aimed at promoting the good works of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

The immediate past Chairman of NUT Ikorodu Chapter, Comrade Lateef Oduguwa appreciated Hon Akinsola for the privilege given to them. He said, "Some public office holders in Ikorodu division had failed NUT Ikorodu Chapter". He urged Adebimpe to assist the NUT through her league of friends and colleagues because he is proud of her simplistic lifestyle and her quality of being down to earth.

In his final remarks, Comrade Oduguwa cordially thanked Hon Adebimpe Akinsola on behalf of the NUT Ikorodu chapter for embracing them. He further prayed for Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on his good work and consistent payment of workers salary.
