SUCCOUR AS 1992 CLASS SET OF IPAKODO GRAMMAR SCHOOL GIVES 50 DUAL DESKS, BENCHES TO THE SCHOOL, SAYS MORE ARE STILL IN THE OFFING.  It's aimed at enhancing conducive learning environment, Dr. Fatai-Abatan reveals.

The Old students of Ipakodo Senior Grammar School, Ipakodo, Ikorodu, 1992 Class Set, was on Monday donated fifty (50) Dual Desks and Benches to the School. A gesture aimed at providing comfort to the academic enhancement of the students and teachers of the School.

Speaking during the presentation, the Principal, Mrs Alebiosu, in her eloquent speech glorified God for the opportunity of life and the opportunity to see the old students of Ipakodo Senior Grammar School doing great things. "This is indeed a great day. We appreciate the contribution of the 1992 class set towards the growth of the school. We commend them for putting aside from the little they have, knowingfully well that government can’t do it alone.

"Providing fifty (50) pairs of desks and benches will go a long way in reducing our problems of furnitures in the school and you might think you are giving them chairs but to me you are giving them life," Alebiosu said.

Mrs. Anike Adekanye, TGPS, Education District II, who was ably represented by Mr. Omisope, in his remarks appreciated the 1992 class set for the initiative to partner with Lagos State in providing sets of fifty (50) desks and benches to citadel of learning, to make learning conducive for students and teachers.

"It is note of worthy that enhancing educational performance and infrastructure development in our school cannot whisk away and government alone cannot do it without the collaborative effort of the communities, individuals, NGO and public at large. The old students association has left their imprint on the sand of time for deeming it necessary to embarks on this lovely project, your kind gesture is very commendable, surely prosperity will remember you for good. I thereby wish to appreciate and commend you for this giant stride," Adekanye said.
    
She further appealed to the old Students Association to ensure the sustainance of this mind of action to help improve the quality of performance in the school, she urged the students to emulate the gesture of the '92 class set, as they are giving back to their alma mater that has groom them.

"There will come a day you will be just like them and even better but you must learn to give back to your alma mater because the government cannot do it alone." Adekanye added.

While speaking earlier, Dr. Abiodun Fatai-Abatan said the donation of desks and benches to the students was to alleviate the suffering the students encountered in the school.

"When we visited the school, we saw that the school was in a pretty bad shape, and we felt the need to intervene and assuring that we assist them especially the areas the government has not done much. So, we're donating fifty (50) dual desks and benches which can accommodate 150 (one hundred and fifty) students. With that, we believe the donation will go a longer way in ensuring the students have a conducive learning environment," he explained.

"This is the first phase on our agenda, we identified numbers of problems in the school, the state in which we met the school isn't befitting while the environment is not stimulating, so we hope to help in the library, renovating classrooms, beautifying the school," Dr. Fatai-Abatan revealed to MegaXpression Correspondent.

Also speaking with MegaXpression, Comrade Japheth Odesanya, said the school has impacted so much in them at various accomplishment and fulfillment level, they therefore felt it high time they give back to the school that has nurtured and shaped them into who they are.

The presentation had in attendance the presence of the TGPS Education District II, Mrs. Anike Adekanye, who was ably represented by Mr. Omisope and Mr. Fasoye, Mrs Alebiosu (Principal), Pastor Mrs Bamwo (V. P. A), Dr. Suraju Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, Comrade Japhet Odesanya, Princess Oluwakemi Ladega, Miss Gabriel Elizabeth Akeredolu, Mr Uwa, Henry Uche, Mrs  Angela, Mrs funmilayo, Pastor Mrs Opadeyi, Mrs Adeshina, Mrs Olaniyonu, Pastor Adeniran, Mr Adebiyi among others.
