AFOLAKE OGUNSANYA OF ANDUS DE-GREAT PRIVATE SCHOOLS IGBOGBO WINS LAGOS INDOMIE TEACHER OF THE YEAR 2019. It's designed to identify, showcase and reward teachers who are outstanding among their peers in the State, the organizer reveals.

A 40-year old teacher from Andus De-Great Private Schools, Igbogbo, Lagos State, Mrs. Sidikat Afolake Ogunsanya, has emerged in Lagos State as the Best 2019 Indomie Teacher of the Year. He defeated all other 22,000 participants in both the public and private schools across the 20 LGs and 37 LCDAs of Lagos State to clinch the first position.

The Indomie Teachers Quiz is an initiative of De-United Foods Industries Limited, designed to identify, showcase and reward teachers who are outstanding among their peers in the State. It is a maiden edition in history of the event. For Ogunsanya's effort, he went home with a plaque, certificate and other gifts as a State champion.

The winner, Mrs Ogunsanya, a Computer and Social Study teacher, while speaking with MegaXpression Community Magazine, commended De-United Foods Industries Limited for the initiative and enjoined other corporate organisations to follow the example as a way of boosting teaching profession and education in the State. She maintained that teaching is not about earning a living, but about having a strong passion for humanity and emotional stability to impart knowledge regardless of the challenges.

In his remarks, while responding to questions from MegaXpression, the CEO of Andus De-Great Private Schools, Mr Titilope Balogun, noted that story of the development of education in Nigeria cannot be complete without the organizer of the award, De-United Foods Industries Limited. He commended the company for its gesture by continually investing in the education sector across segments including schools, teachers as well as students.

"I believe the initiative was hinged on the realization that teachers hardly get the recognition they deserve in spite of the crucial role they play in determining the quality of education and the future of a country," Balogun added.
