JIMI BENSON FEEDS, GIVES TO NEEDY, SAYS HIS DETERMINATION TO PUT SMILES ON THE FACES OF CONSTITUENTS IS SACROSANCT. Beneficiaries, others applaud the gesture.

It was another happy moment for the people of Ikorodu federal constituency on Saturday, October 12, 2019, when the iCARE Foodbank doled out food for the less privilege in Ikorodu Division. iCare FoodBank, an initiative of iCare Foundation of Hon. Babajimi Benson, a nonprofit charitable organization that buys food and grocery products and redistributes the items in a bag called ‘APO AANU or ‘MERCY BAG’ to individuals and vulnerable families in need within Ikorodu Federal Constituency. 

The beneficiaries defied the heavy downpour to participate in the kind gesture. The programme, since its inception has no doubt given succor to the less privileges, disables, elderly persons and other people in needs through the monthly distribution of the food.

According to the erudite legislator, Hon Babajimi Benson, while speaking with MegaXpression Community Correspondent said the laudable initiative was designed to prevent residents, particularly the indigent ones across the Division, from going to bed without food. He further stated that the foodbank programme is not politically motivated but an initiative to support homes. 

“Foodbank program is not to win people’s heart, what we are doing is to support our people and enable them to feed themselves for a while," he said. JB, as he's popularly called, also added transport fee to the 'Apo Aanu' given to over 500 beneficiaries.

Speaking to one of the beneficiaries, Madam Adewuyi Ibitoye from Ward A1, Ikorodu, she expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Babajimi Benson, his wife and the entire iCARE Team for their uncommon gesture and prayed for God's guidance in their future endeavours.

Shortly after the pleasant remarks, the distribution of the food items began by Mr Yusuf and Aregbe with smiles of relief on the faces of the beneficiaries.

Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family. During the meeting held at Osugbo Abalaye Shrine , where Lantan family were asked to pay fine of almost One million naira worth of sacrifice because of Mr Shakiru Sanni's misconduct, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali , emphasized that Shakiru Sanni's removal as Olumale Eluku was to safeguard the sanctity, culture, tradition, religion and prestige of Igbogbo
