The youth are responsible for the growth, development as well as the failure of any community.
“Therefore it is our responsibility to enlighten you on the roles you need to play as youths in ensuring that our future is not in jeopardy by placing it in the hands of youths who don’t have vision. As youths you should be catalyst of positive change, to bring about the growth of our communities and not otherwise," Bisiriyu explained.
He further urged the youths to be conscious of and concerned with the growth of their communities because the participation and inclusion of the youths in politics, economics and all spheres of life is germane for continuity sake.
Also speaking at the event, Mr. Lanre Kuye, Deputy Registrar Lagos State Polytechnic, added that education, skill acquisition and good moral conduct are vital characteristics that a youth must possess.
“We as leaders must pay attention to the qualities of our youths so that we don’t put our future in wrong hands. Education is one quality that cannot be over emphasized in proper upbringing of the youths. All forms of education; formal or informal learning will sum up to making you a good representative of the community.
“Any community that wants to be developed must endeavor to educate it’s youths. Acquire good vocational skills which will in turn serve as something to fall back on in times of trouble,” Lanre said.
