IKORODU NORTH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, ADEOLA BANJO HOLDS PARLEY WITH COMMUNITY MEDIA PRACTITIONERS IN IKORODU DIVISION. | Shakiru Seidu.


The Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Adeola Adebisi Banjo, was on Friday held a media Parley with the Local Media Practitioners in Ikorodu Division, at the Civil Service Club Ikorodu. The parley focused mainly on the activities of the Council in the last six and have years in office.

The event, marking the first of its kind, saw the convergence of key players in the 4th estate of reem, underscoring the Chairman's commitment to fostering a symbiotic relationship between governance and media.

The informal gathering witnessed the participation of both the established and growing media practitioners, including Mr. Olukunle Adelabu, Mr. Shakiru Seidu, Mr. Adeniyi Soyebo, Mr. Mike Eromona, Mr. Charles Ajuzie, Ọmo'ba Peju Akinyemi, Mr. Abdul-Rahmon Ajasa, and Alhaji Jimoh Mufutau, representing various media outlets in Ikorodu division.

The occasion provided an unprecedented opportunity for the media-friendly Chairman to engage with the pen fraternity, emphasizing the pivotal role of media as the voice of the people and the government's conscience.

Discussions delved into balanced reporting through thorough investigation and unveiled the Chairman's developmental plans for 2024, reinforcing his commitment to an open-door policy.

In response, media representatives urged the council to champion transparency, particularly in budget analysis, and called for the Chairman to lead a collaborative effort among the six council leaders to enhance the division's security architecture. Emphasizing the strategic importance of Ikorodu North LCDA, recommendations also highlighted concerted efforts for food security, positioning Ikorodu division as a significant contributor to Lagos state and Nigeria at large.

Supporting the Chairman in this momentous event were Hon. Al-Ameen Apanisile, Hon. Prince Niyi Odugbesi, Hon. Ayo Adekoya, and other members of the legislative council, along with the council's Supervisor for Information - Hon. Sulaimon Adewusi, Supervisor for Works - Alhaji Ambali Olutusin, and the SSA to the Chairman on Special Duty - Mr. Olawale Olówólàgbà.

This landmark interaction undoubtedly sets the tone for Ikorodu North LCDA's trajectory as the Tower of Resources, heralding a new era of collaboration and progress.
