FLOODING: DAINI CALLS ON GOV. SANWO-OLU, WARNS RESIDENTS OF IGBOGBO/BAYEKU LCDA AGAINST DUMPING REFUSE IN DRAINS.

The Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA of Lagos State, Bldr. Olusesan Daini has called on Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, revealing the challenges facing the LCDA on flooding. He therefore warned the residents of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA against indiscriminate dumping of refuse in the drains.

In a statement made available to MegaXpression Community News, Daini said it was imperative for the residents to know that the presence of waste in the drains would lead to flooding and erosion in their communities, noting that we should have a collective responsibility towards reducing the effect of flood in our area.

The Chairman assured the residents of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA that his administration’s commitment to good drainage for free flow of water and to mitigate the effects of flood in the communities is sacrosanct.

“The council’s environmental team has been creating flood safety awareness from community to community to sensitise the residents on how to be environment-friendly during this rainy season.

“The first priority of my administration is to ensure the protection of lives and property of residents and that’s why the council is always proactive in its activities," Chairman Daini said.

He therefore thanked the good people of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA for their continued support and cooperation with his administration and urged them to keep it up.
