OBA KASALI: 4 YEARS OF GREAT VIRTUES AND IMPACTFUL CONTRIBUTIONS TO GROWTH, DEVELOPMENT OF IGBOGBO KINGDOM. By Shakiru Seidu / July 25, 2020.

It's 4 years today, when all major roads in Igbogbo were put on hold and the economic activities were grounded. Royal Heads, top government functionaries, legislators, religious scholars, artisans, traders, sons and daughters of Igbogbo were all in attendance, when HRM Oba (Barr.) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade 1, ascended the throne on the 25th of July, 2016, making him the 8th Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom since 1900.

On that memorable day, myself and other great people of Igbogbo Kingdom were all happy and prayed that the reign of HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, as the 8th Kabiyesi, the people of Igbogbo will begin to experience unprecedented development, and that peaceful co-existence would reign among its people.

As a highly revered, dedicated, courageous and committed Monarch with exemplary traits in character and leadership which made him a key factor among the Ijebu Obas in Lagos State. Records equally attest to Oba Kasali’s great virtues in dedication, integrity, courage and service as exhibited in his love for the people, endless service and wise leadership which have brought great political, economic and social success to Igbogboland, making it prosperous and peaceful.

I belief the wisdom, warmth and friendliness of Oba Kasali also translated into peace and civility in the domain. I pray that the almighty God will continue to bless him and grant him more years of fruitful reign. No doubt, his emergence has birthed an undiluted fresh air of great transformation that everyone can testify to in Igbogboland. 

As an erudite lawyer and a remarkable intellect, the Monarch has overtime, in alliance with High Chief Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, the Odofin of Igbogbo and other members of Adeboruwa- in-Council, demonstrated radical passion for growth and development of Igbogbo Community. 

The presence of Banks were made possible with the collective effort of the progressives in the land. The insecurity challenges encountered recently have been stemmed considering the efforts of local security operatives, and Nigeria Police force. It is crystal clear that crime rate has drastically reduced, cult fights are gradually fizzling away.

I therefore enjoin all the stakeholders; the elder statesmen, sociocultural groups and associations in all facet of age category, locally and internationally and the sons and daughters of the soil to embrace a vibrant synergy to collaborate with HRM Oba (Barr) Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, in taking Igbogboland to a greater height. 

Myself and on behalf of MegaXpression Community Magazine, the first Community media outlet in Igbogbo, I extend our sincere wishes to the Royal Court, King Makers, Chiefs, league of Baales, Honorary Chiefs, and all the good people of Igbogboland, praying Almighty God to continually replenish the Monarch's strength and wisdom.

IGBOGBO CENTRAL MOSQUE GETS NEW CHIEF IMAM, AS FADEELAT IMAM ABDULGANIU ABOLORE GAZALI INSTALLED. | Shakiru Seidu.

A new Chief Imam for the Igbogbo Central Mosque has been installed. He is Fadeelat Imam Abdulganiu Gazali , who was turbaned on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, as Chief Imam of Igbogbo Central Mosque and Grand Chief Imam Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA. He succeeds the late Fadilat Sheikh Dhikirulahi Abdulahi Andu (Tanimose) who died on the 2nd of June, 2025. Gazali , before his installation, was the Chief Imam Araromi Mosque , Itun-Abosan. He is from Amoju branch of Lantan Onanusi Family, Igbogbo, and was graduated from different Arabic and Islamic Colleges. Abdulganiu was turbaned on Tuesday by the Ulamas in the Central Mosque, Igbogbo.
