TORTUGA FRIGATE DONATES SANITATION MATERIALS FOR SABO INTERNATIONAL MARKET IKORODU, LAGOS. It's aimed at sustaining our tradition of promoting healthy environment, Tortuga's Chairman, Comrade Pelumi Olalekan reveals.
A Non Governmental Organisation, Tortuga Frigate, has made donation of sanitation materials to the Sabo International Market Ikorodu, Lagos. This community development gesture was made on Saturday, inside the Market.
According to the Chairman of Tortuga Frigate, Comrade Pelumi Olalekan, RADO, he said the donation is a demonstration of Tortuga Frigate's commitment to the current ‘Clean Lagos’ initiative of the State government.
Presenting a range of utility material which included large plastic waste bins, shovels and brooms, Olamilekan further expressed deep satisfaction while speaking with MegaXpression News, that Tortuga Frigate had continued to sustain the tradition of promoting healthy environment.
He commended members, while also urging the leadership of Sabo International Market to deploy the gifts to good use as intended by the Tortuga Frigate, noting that they are more concerned about promoting clean environment in order to reduce the incidences of diseases that are consequences of unhealthy or badly kept environment.
Olalekan urged anyone interested in Tortuga Frigate to come but the person must be a graduate of a school and a working class personality. "The person must be intelligent, responsible and reliable", he said.
"We have visited motherless and orphanage home to present gift items. We are doing this by trying to protect the image of the youth positively within and outside our community.
"By the 1st of November, we are going to orphanage home for special prayer and annual thanksgiving that we normally have yearly. Our yearly programme had been slated for 5th of June which is World Environmental Day, where we could have visited five markets across Ikorodu Division, but due to the Covid'19 pandemic, we couldn't achieve this," Olalekan revealed.
The leader of the Sabo international market and Iyaloja of Ikorodu, Alhaja Taofikat Allison, expressed the market’s appreciation for the Tortuga Frigate's unwavering commitment and support to the market and community.
"I'm absolutely happy for this gesture because what you have done today is not too small. I pray that Tortuga Frigate will continue to move forward and may Almighty Allah help you the more", Alhaja Allinson prayed.
