WE WILL VOTE TOKUNBO ABIRU FOR SENATE, LAGOS EAST IGBO COMMUNITY ASSURES. I will focus on intimidating bills and motions that will guarantee protection of lives and properties and deepen our peaceful coexistence, Abiru reveals.

In what appears to be a trend, the Igbo community in Lagos East Senatorial District has vowed to vote massively for the APC Senatorial Candidate, in October 31 bye-election, Mr Tokunbo Abiru, as well as christened him another precious name “Infeanyichukwu”.

The APC Igbo Apex leader in Lagos State, Engr. Joe Igbokwe, while addressing members across the 16 Local Councils of Lagos East Senatorial, said the name given to Abiru meaning “Nothing is impossible for God to do” which will assist him to wade off any opposition to his election to the Senate to represent Lagos East and display quality representation and empowerment of constituents.

“I am calling on all Igbos in Lagos East to vote for Tokunbo Infeanyichukwu Abiru in the October 31 bye-election. He has identified with Igbos in Lagos State and his added name is a seal of being one of us henceforth. 

"Senate is for distinguish people, anyone who can not take or stand any argument can not be a leader. We are going to use this election to make a statement in Lagos State because some people are deceiving themselves from the other side," Igbokwe said. 

Barrister Obi Onu, the APC State women leader for Igbos, equally stated that Lagos provides a most conducive environment for Igbos to succeed than any part of Nigeria and Igbos should identify with the aspiration of the ruling party in government in the state by voting for all APC candidate in the October 31 by-election.

“We must support the Lagos State ruling party APC as they have been fair to us. However, Igbos must vote overwhelmingly for Tokunbo Abiru if they want to benefit more from the APC administration at the federal level” she said.

While thanking the Igbo community in Lagos for supporting him and giving him another name, Mr Tokunbo Abiru said he will support the interest of Igbos in Lagos and elsewhere as one of them.

"I thank the president, exco members and the Igbo speaking community in the Lagos East Senatorial, for hosting us today. Today is a very big day in the country like we all know the importance of Nigeria Independence. A day that the Igbo community were marked to come and endorse our party and put the community in a safe form for huge sacrifice for the benefit of all.

"I will focus on intimidating bills and motions that will guarantee protection of lives and properties and deepen our peaceful coexistence irrespective of where we live or where we transact our businesses; ensure the unity of our fatherland; improve competitive business environments; drive foreign and indigenous investments; open up economy for prosperity of all," Abiru said. 

Among dignitaries that witnessed the occasion were the the DG and Deputy of Tokunbo Abiru Campaign Team, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya and Chief Oloyede, majority leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. SOB Agunbiade, former Ag. Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture and member Seventh Assembly, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, Member Seventh and Eighth Assemblies, Hon Segun Olulade, Chairman Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and Publicity Director of Tokunbo Abiru Campaign Team, Bldr. Olusesan Mayokun Daini, Igbo representatives, Chief Dr. Kelvin Mordi, Chief Uche Opetemba,  Chief Chris Ekwilo, Hon. Goodhope Anosike, Easter Anah, Barr. Ken Alu, High Chief Prince Kelvin Onwa, other members of state exco and five representatives from the 16 local governments of Lagos East Senatorial.
