LAGOS EAST BYE- ELECTION: AREWA COMMUNITY ASSURES VICTORY FOR APC, PROMISES TO VOTE MASSIVELY FOR TOKUNBO ABIRU. We will continue to work as partners, Abiru reveals.
The Lagos East Senatorial leader of the Arewa Community, Alhaji Mahmood Ibrahim, has said that members of the Arewa community will vote massively for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Tokunbo Abiru, on Saturday, October 31 Lagos East Senatorial bye-election.
At a gathering held on Thursday, at Sabo, Ikorodu, Alhaji Ibrahim said the community would actively participate in the election. “As we did in the previous elections, we will replicate same by voting massively for APC in October 31 to indicate that we are not social media electorates, but real voters,” Alhaji Ibrahim said.
He called on other residents of the Lagos East Senatorial to come out on October 31 to exercise their franchise and decide their Senator.
“The Arewa people are psychologically ready and are enthusiastic to support Tokunbo Abiru. Noting will stop us from going out to exercise our constitutional right as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Alhaji Ibrahim added.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Muhammed Musa, the representative of the Commissioner for Water front in Lagos State, equally assured victory for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in October 31 bye-election, noting that Arewa Community takes it serious when it comes to election.
In his eloquent remarks, the APC Senatorial flagbearer, Mr Tokunbo Abiru, thanked the Arewa community for coming out on independence day to show him love. "Arewa are very strategic when it comes to politics. We will continue to work as partners and we promise not to disappoint," Abiru said.
"It gladden my heart that the message of getting a special status for Lagos State is already resonating with the electorate as Alhaji Musa echoed same belief, a narrative we are determined to change, if given the mandate," Abiru added.
