Dankuwo equally donated primary school learning materials, school uniform, chairs and desks to pupils to aid and enhance the standard of education in her community.
While speaking with MegaXpression Correspondence, Dankuwo said she choose Eleja primary school because it was the primary school she attended, grew up as a little kid, noting how she used to come to the school with no shoes and torn clothes. "I have to pay back to the society and not just the society but to my elementary school," she said.
"I want to say a very big thank you to Mr Bidemi Lawalson, one of our Eleja Primary School students. He presented the chairs and desks to the school. Also, Professor Agbara from Edo State, she equally gave some money for stationeries, while I decided to do the library for the school. Likewise other people from America gave some materials and donations. Last year, I was able to present two water projects, toilets, stationeries and some toys to the kids of Eleja Primary School Igbogbo," Dankuwo explained.
I want to say a big thank you to the Chairman of LGEA Ikorodu, my husband, Mr Babatunde Oyedele, my Children, Parent and particularly Mr Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Community Magazine, for their believes and supports on these projects.
Dankuwo further stated that the gesture was borne out of her belief that education is key to human development, adding that it was important to catch them young.
“If you educate children, you will shave a better society. That is why I always put education as my top priority, supporting them at the primary school level by providing reading materials constantly to motivate the pupils and relieve their parents from responsibilities," Oyetola Dankuwo added.
In his eloquent remarks, the head of Unit Communication Knowledge and Management Social Mobilization section, Local Government Education Authority Ikorodu, Mr Yekinni Oladele, said it is always good for someone to give a feedback to a school of origination where he/she started from.
"I salute Dankuwo's courage and passion for giving back to the community she rose up from. Late Omotayo Dankuwo, who happens to be her father have done a lot of things to the development of Ikorodu and its environment and the image also exhibited itself on the children.
"We have been doing this to our community because there is an advocacy to the community that is saddled with the responsibility of reaching out to the community especially the NGO and philanthropists that government can not do it alone," Oladele said.
He further advised the people in the community, especially the community based organization to come and partner with the government so that we can have a safe and sound community later on.
