TORTUGA MEMBERS CONVERGE AT BEACH FOR LOVE FEAST, THANKSGIVING. ...Gives Awards to Comrade Olalekan Pelumi, 21 other dedicated members.

Members of Tortuga Frigate across Ikorodu Division, as well as their wives were gathered at the Lagos beach, for this year’s annual thanksgiving and love feast.

The celebration, according to the Chairman of Tortuga, Ikorodu Chapter, Comrade Pelumi Olalekan, “for our various families to thank God for all His riches in glory, physically and spiritually, all through the year. I do not need to be reminded to count God’s blessings one by one because that is what we are doing”.

Pelumi added: “As you and I know, the Lord can’t provide for us and still thank himself for all His goodness to us. It is our duty to return to Him in thanksgiving, praise and worship. 

“Thanksgiving is not a new thing to the world as the world sets out a day to thank God before the end of the year. You can imagine how the children feel about us when we return home to them with gifts. It is the same way God feels when we shower Him gifts and thanks," he concluded.

Mrs. Monsurat Olaibo Pelumi, wife of the Tortuga Frigate Chairman in Ikorodu, equally made used of the opportunity to make raffles draw for members' wives. Among the given items were Electric Water Kettle, won by Mrs Opara Benneth, Plate rack, won by Mrs Animawun Samson, Big Frypan, won by Mrs Agunbiade Ismail, Pepper Grater, won by Mrs Oreagba Rasheed, Pepper slice tray 1, won by Mrs Oladunni Odunayo, Pepper slice tray 2, won by Mrs Adeniji femi, Serving plate, won by Anonymous, Toast machine, won by Mr Pedro oyin, Food flask, won by Mr Francis Obiebi and Set of Spoons, won by Mrs sanmi Aiyemo.

Awards were later presented to the Tortuga Frigate Chairman, Ikorodu branch, Comrade Pelumi Olalekan and other 21 members. These include:
