CHRISTMAS: JIMI BENSON FEEDS CONSTITUENTS, AS 1,000 HOUSEHOLDS BENEFIT FROM iCARE FOODBANK IN IKORODU. ...Says his continuous gesture borne out of his desire to put smiles on faces of his constituents.

Over 1,000 households and vulnerable across Ikorodu federal Constituency were as usual on Saturday benefited from the December 2020 edition of iCARE Foodbank programme.

The recipients converged at his constituency Office in Igbogbo, where the iCare Foundation distributed its monthly foodbank to individuals and vulnerable families within Ikorodu Division.

iCARE Foodbank, an initiative of iCare Foundation of Hon. Babajimi Adekoge Benson, is a nonprofit charitable organization that buys food and grocery products and redistributes the items in a bag called ‘APO AANU or ‘MERCY BAG’ to the less privileges.

Since 2016, the Foundation has been buying grocery food items to redistribute to individuals and vulnerable families; elderly, single parent, widow or physically challenged, mostly nominated by the public through CDCs, CDAs, Social groups, religious bodies and an online portal to reach those designed for.

Benson, while distributing the items said that the continuous gesture was borne out of his desire to improve the standard of living of his constituents during, and after, the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

“This gesture will go a long way in improving on the standard of living of the people of my constituency. I want them to celebrate Christmas and New Year with smiles on their faces and with joy,” Benson said.

The lawmaker re-assured the people of quality and sound representation at the national Assembly in the interest of development.

Also, speaking with MegaXpression Community News, the Director General of the iCARE Foundation, Mayor Muyideen Sanwoola noted that, ‘the Christmas iCARE food bag distribution is in line with Hon Babajimi Benson’s aggressive campaign against hunger among his constituents, especially as Christian faithfuls mark this year’s yuletide.

"Inspite of the distribution taking place ahead of the Christmas celebration, many non-Christian were also captured among the beneficiaries of the gesture," he said.

He therefore commended members of iCARE Foundation for their commitment and unflinching loyalty to the foundation since 2014.
