REP. JIMI BENSON AGAIN INSPECTS ON-GOING CONSTITUENCY PROJECTS IN IKORODU. ...Charges youth to embrace peaceful coexistence, says no gain in killing one another.
House of Reps. Member, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Defence, Hon Babajimi Adegoke Benson, has again inspected the ongoing constituency projects across Ikorodu federal Constituency.
The lawmaker, on Saturday, commenced the inspection tour from Ita-Elewa Mini Sports Stadium, at the centre of Ikorodu, where he charged the Site Engineer, Mr Abdul-Azeez Kukoyi, to meet up with the March 2021 deadline.
While responding to questions from MegaXpression Community News, Benson said the Mini Sports Stadium is a twelve weeks project which started December 2020 and to be completed and commissioned hopefully by the end of March.
The lawmaker equally urged the youths to desist from violence in order to avoid delay on the project. He appealed passionately with the youths across Ikorodu federal Constituency to ensure peaceful coexistence, noting that by the time the Stadium is completed, it will keep the youths busy and help in discovering talents among them.
"I'm appealing to the young ones to embrace peace and come together to ensure the growth of Ikorodu federal constituency, because there is no joy in killing one another," Benson said.
Earlier, the Site Engineer, Mr Abdul-Azeez Kukoyi, explained to MegaXpression Correspondence that the Mini Sports Stadium will contain 5-Aside football pitch, basketball and volleyball court and would be delivered on or before March 2021.
He therefore called on the leaders in Ikorodu to address some challenges facing the progress of the project, in terms of the unrest activities happening around the community.
The inspection team led by Rep. Babajimi Benson, and accompanied by the Chairman, Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, Bldr Olusesan Mayokun Daini, and some members of iCARE Family, were later moved to the almost completed a storey building of eight classrooms, erected at Methodist Primary School Igbogbo.
After, the erudite lawmaker and his team proceeded to inspect the additional 500m Igbe/Oreyo road Igbogbo, after the completion of the first phase of 1.7km project, which will make the total project to be 2.2km road project to Oreyo junction.
Other ongoing inspected projects include:
1. UPE Primary School, Ajaguro Agric, Ikorodu West LCDA.
2. Ayangburen Junior Secondary school, off Allison Street Ikorodu, a storey building of 8 classrooms.
3. Ipakodo Primary School Ipakodo, a storey building of 8 classrooms.
4. Odoguyan senior Secondary school Ikorodu.
5. Omolaye Pry School Agbede, Ikorodu.
6. Luwasa Junior Secondary school Ijede.
7. Community junior secondary school Mowonla, and
8. Saint Saviour Igbaga, six block of classrooms with facilities and toilets, MegaXpression reports.
