Over 120 CDAs from Igbodu, Ewu-Owa, Mase, Ito, Gberigbe, Oke-Oloku, Abule-Alaru, Agura, Iponu and other communities have passionately appealled to the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, through the Lagos Majority Leader, Hon. SOB Agunbiade, to consider the continuation of the construction on Agura /Gberigbe /Igbodu Road as phase 2, instead of Ijede road for now, stating that it's out of biased but on facts of improve economy, value, growth and development.

According to the appeal letter sent to Hon. Agunbiade, the residents narrated the poor State of the road, noting that it has become a death trap. "We have already cut off from other parts of Lagos using our main road. There is no parts of the roads that is good. The critical portion of this road are AP one fold, FOMON (EWU-OWA) stretch to CAC Gberigbe to Igbalu junction, Alausa Agura and OK bus stop Agura are no longer good, we are begging for your prompt intervention.

"By considering the continuation of the road through Agura Gberigbe Igbodu axis, Lagos State would have succeeded in opening the entire areas in economic rejuvenation and growth which is one of the cardinal principles of this present government. Lagos State Rice Mill which is the largest in West Africa and other industrial and commercial infrastructures sited in the area will no doubt have easy accessibility," the letter stated.

The CDAs Chairmen equally urged Hon. Agunbiade, to convey their sincere gratitude and appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu for considering worthy to start the construction of Ijede phase 1, which has brought a lots of relief to the people of that area, revealing that the economic growth have started to spring up.

In his fluent response, Agunbiade narrated the effort he has made on their appeal, by writing a covering letter to the Ministry of Works and discussing the request with relevant authorities, MegaXpression reports.

The lawmaker said the fantastic construction work on the Itamaga Ijede Road has continued to receive commendations from within and beyond Ikorodu Division, saying it is indeed a dream come true. He passionately solicited for extension of the government good gesture to Gberigbe/ Agura /Igbodu road as phase 2 of Ijede road construction.

"The conscious residents of the communities along the axis of the road, who have been following up on the construction work, have made some observation which deserve our attention in the interest of lives and properties to the affected communities.

"I attest that if this request is granted, it will become more meaningful to the people living in and out of Gberigbe, Igbodu, Igbokuta and Imota communities as they will be relieved," Lagos Majority Leader, Agunbiade appealled to government.

He enjoined the leadership of the CDAs in Ikorodu Constituency 1 to always send their plights to Government through him for adequate and immediate attention. "I am representing you at the State Assembly and your working closer with me will help develop our community," Agunbiade added.
