His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, was on Wednesday received in his Palace, the Commanding Officer, 174 Battalion of Nigeria Army, Odogunyan, Lieutenant E.O. Sholatan, and other top Army personnel, noting that a serious community must be security conscious.

"Your visit to Igbogbo couldn't have come much better time than this period. That is to tell you that we appreciate your coming at this point in time when the entire Ikorodu Division is in need of attention as far as the security is concern. No community or society can survive without adequate security," Oba Kasali said.

The Monarch charged the Commanding Officer to follow the tread of his predecessor, stating that the problem of insecurity should be tackled with strict intelligence. He equally advocated for an unflinching synergy between the Army, Police and local security operatives, in order to achieve smooth and effective synergy to protect the lives and properties of the citizenry.

"In the Palace, we are so much concerned about how residents in the community will live happily and in peace. Ever since your predecessor came in touch with us, we have been able to work in alliance in curbing insecurity in our community.

"We've had several issues in the past which had been resolved, but presently, the issue of armed robbery and kidnapping had become rampant in our country, which by God's grace shall put to stop. Our representatives in different areas of the community had been very proactive in calling our attention to whatsoever that is happening in there areas, which helps in curbing crimes in my domain," Oba Kasali added.

He further prayed for the Army personnel and assured them of maximum co-operation from his Palace, appealing to government to ensure a peaceful coexistence among the people of Nigeria, MegaXpression reports.

Earlier, the Commanding Officer, Lt. E.O. Sholatan, thanked the Monarch for the warmth reception and shared views on how to curb the security challenges facing the community. He also reiterated his commitment to zero tolerance for improper behaviour in the society, noting that non of his officers will be allowed to compromise their duty.

Sholatan further assured of effective synergy between the 174 Battalion Odogunyan and the DPOs across Ikorodu Division to get things done properly. "By God's grace, there won't be any fiction between us and the Police, we will always work as one to achieve a common goal, even if it is in different ways," he said.

The Commander enjoined residents of Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA to assist the security operatives to combat the security challenges facing the society.
