In furtherance to efforts at ensuring Ikorodu becomes the Miami of Africa, the member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the Lower Chamber of the National Assembly and Chairman House Committee on Defence, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson has flagged off the reconstruction of another eleven dilapidated roads in Agbala/ Eyita / Benson Estate area of Ikorodu, Lagos, in order to make life easy for those residing in those axis.

The benefitted roads include, Oshin Ladega Street Agbala, Amudat Jokomba Street, Olokunola Street, and Oladunjoye Oriola Street (better food), all in Ikorodu North LCDA. Others that falls under Ikorodu Central are Oguntuga Street, Igbeyin Adun Street, Olaore Oshikoya Street, Ayodele Ayeni Street, Giwa Efugbotu, Adeyiga Street (Benson Estate linking Munirat Aleje and also leads to Benson bus stop) and Jimi Benson grandfather's street, Abudu Benson Street Ikorodu.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony on Saturday, Rep. Benson said once the roads are delivered in the next four months, the businesses around the areas will become easily accessible and enhance the economic growth.
"Undoubtedly, when completed in the next four months, the roads will serve as an essential complement to the ongoing Ikorodu- Sagamu road and the popular Benson bustop and as well upgrade the economic viability of the good people of Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
"As I have always said, the peace, progress and prosperity of all and sundry in Ikorodu is non-negotiable and we will not rest on our oars at attracting the best of development to our community," Benson opined.
The lawmaker further used the opportunity to appreciate the Speaker of House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Federal Ministries and other federal government Agencies, in supporting the facilitated infrastructure to Ikorodu federal Constituency.
While also commending and appreciating the cooperation and understanding of residents and Community Development Associations (CDAs) for their unflinching cooperation.
Engr. Muhammed Odaki of the JRB Construction Company Limited, said to MegaXpression Media that the 11 connecting roads will be delivered to the good people of Ikorodu in four(4) months.
While addressing the audience, the Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Adeola Adebisi Banjo described Benson as a blessing to Ikorodu Division. He commended his selfless willingness to make Ikorodu truly becomes the Miami of Lagos.
Also, the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, praised the development strides, capacity and footprints Hon Benson, noting JB's consistency and superlative performance.
The Chairman of Oriwu Club, Engr Amid Oduborisha, in his remarks, commended the uncommon performance of Hon. Babajimi Benson, stressing that the roads would further help to improve the lives of residents, while driving patronage to the Club House and its facilities.
He added that he attended the event as a great admirer of Hon Benson, whose late father he said was a senior member of the prestigious Oriwu Club and that, as younger members, he looked up to Hon Jimi Benson’s father who equally was open to him and others.
‘I am here to support Hon Jimi Benson who has been a rallying point for us in Ikorodu. If you love your community and want her progress, you will identify someone who is doing that’, Oduborisha stated.
