OBASHIP TUSSLE: YOUTH GROUP THREATENS MASS PROTEST OVER UNLAWFUL ARREST IN KETU, EPE. ...Insists Akeem Oluwo is not worthy to be Alaketu of Ketu.

In a bid to demand the restoration of the right monarch to the throne of Alaketu of Ketu in Ikosi/Ejirin LCDA, a youth coalition within the Kingdom has threatened to stage a mass protest on 1st or 2nd of June, on the alleged chosen of Chief Akeem Oluwo as the new Alaketu and the unlawful arrest of youth by the said person.

The protesters noted that the kingship tussle between Chief Akeem Oluwo and Prince Adekoya Adefowora has being before the Court of Competent jurisdiction of High Court in Epe, while the next adjournment date has been scheduled for 25th September, 2024.

Spokesperson for the community youth, alleged that Chief Akeem Oluwo is an Ajagungbale, who has been using his unlawful character to disturb the peace and unity of Ketu community.

"It is forbidden and against the custom of our land to install a person of so many questionable character as Alaketu of Ketu. We reject it in totality," the spokesperson opined.

"On the 30th of May, according to the information gathered, Chief Akeem Oluwo, allegedly sent some unknown DSS with covered face to Ketu, they arrested two of our youth members, inside the Palace of Alaketu of Ketu. They scattered the whole Palace and equally went to Epe to arrest Lukman, who's also an Indigene of Ketu.

"The Olisa of Ketu and other community leaders are not happy with the whole scenario and they've expressed their displeasure over the unlawful arrest of youth members.

"We are therefore calling on the State Government and Chairman of Ikosi/Ejirin LCDA, to urgently wage in into the matter and tell Chief Akeem Oluwo to allow the Court ruling to prevail.

"The arrested youth members must be released immediately or else, we'll short down the economic activities of Ketu community," the youth threatened.
