IKORODU AGOG AS LASG HOLDS GREATER LAGOS COUNTDOWN 2025. "Event marks celebration of resilience, hope for new year," Sesan Daini, Chairman Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA reveals.

The premises of Ikorodu Town Hall was on Tuesday/Wednesday midnight full to capacity, as the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, staged a Greater Lagos Countdown 2025 from December 31, starting from 8PM, to usher in Year 2025 in spectacular fashion.

The Greater Lagos Countdown is an anticipated 24-hour celebration, offering attendees a memorable blend of music, culture, and entertainment to mark the transition into 2025, MegaXpression Media gathered.

This year’s event featured an electrifying lineup of Afrobeat and fuji superstars. Performances was simultaneously held across the five IBILE Divisions of Lagos State.

Speaking MegaXpression Media about the event, the Chairman Igbogbo Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, described the Greater Lagos Countdown as a unique platform to unify the residents of Ikorodu Division, while celebrating the cultural diversity and vibrancy of the State.

“This end-of-year celebration is more than an event; it is a tribute to the dynamic spirit of Lagos and its people. With music, dance, food, and a breathtaking fireworks display, we are dedicated to creating an unforgettable experience for everyone,” Daini said.

The celebration reached its climax with a stunning fireworks display at midnight, symbolizing the transition into the New Year.

A new Chief Imam for the Igbogbo Central Mosque has been installed. He is Fadeelat Imam Abdulganiu Gazali , who was turbaned on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, as Chief Imam of Igbogbo Central Mosque and Grand Chief Imam Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA. He succeeds the late Fadilat Sheikh Dhikirulahi Abdulahi Andu (Tanimose) who died on the 2nd of June, 2025. Gazali , before his installation, was the Chief Imam Araromi Mosque , Itun-Abosan.
