The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA), in collaboration with the Omo Daadaa Foundation, has distributed school bags and books to pupils at Methodist Primary School Igbogbo on Wednesday. This initiative, part of the “Back to School” programme, aims to promote education and environmental sustainability.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/ Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, Managing Director of LASAA, Prince Fatiu Akiolu, Mr Niyi Dada, Founder of Omo Daadaa Foundation, Member, Lagos House of Assembly, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro AMA, who was ably represented by Hon. Adewale Bolowotan, among others.
The initiative highlighted an innovative approach to recycling used flex materials from advertising billboards into durable school bags. The bags and essential books would aid students in their learning journey as the new school term commences.
Akiolu reiterated LASAA’s commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability. He confirmed that LASAA will continue to support such community- focused programmes.
The founder, Niyi Dada noted that the foundation’s dedication to solutions that blend social good with environmental responsibility. He urged the students to make the most of the resources provided.
The “Back to School” initiative exemplifies the ongoing partnership between LASAA and Omoo Dadaa Foundation. It serves as a model for sustainable community development through public-private partnerships. Several other schools are scheduled to benefit from this initiative in the future.
In his eloquent address, the Chairman, Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Daini, expressed gratitude to the Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) for their initiative to distribute school bags and educational materials to pupils in the area.
Daini praised LASAA’s Managing Director, Prince Fatiu Akiolu, for the uncommon gesture, expressing his delight in witnessing this kind of initiative for the first time in the LCDA. He commended Prince Akiolu and LASAA for their competence and capability in handling their constitutional responsibilities.
Also, Daini urged the pupils to make good use of the materials, while encouraging LASAA to explore other income- generating opportunities using the same materials.
