It was no doubt a historic moment on Tuesday, as all roads were led to the Council Secretariat of Imota LCDA, where the Council Chairman, Hon (Prince) Wasiu Agoro, and the entire management Staff, had its Fisca Planning for the year 2019, which engaged the Stakeholders in Imota LCDA, to share views together on how to move the LCDA forward.
In his eloquent speech, the Chairman revealed to the gathering on his excellent performance on the Y2018 Budget and what they have in stock for the Y2019 Budget. He gave Allah the Glory and more so, the good people of Imota LCDA, for their unflinching supports and understanding in the last one and half years in office.
He assured that his administration in 2019 is poised to sustaining and improving development in the areas of healthy environment, Security, construction & rehabilitation of roads, education, skill acquisition & empowerment, Youth engagement and effective service delivery as his priority. He therefore said 2019 Budget is mandatory for the people's opinion, input and contribution which will be accorded as high priority.
"We are all aware that no meaningful development can be achieved in development without planning, budget and funding. In this regards, our administration is working relentlessly to increase our internally generated revenue (IGR) in other to balance with the needs of our people. Our revenue generation drive is formulated on the tripod of efficiency, transparency and accountability," he said.
Agoro further frown at the security challenges facing the LCDA, saying his administration will not leave any stone unturned on the security of lives and properties of his people. "I thank the residents of Imota LCDA and all our security agencies for their efforts in curbing the crime rat within the community," he added.
On the environment situation, the Council Boss, Prince Agoro, enjoined all to always tidy up their environment and cooperate with the PSP operators. "It is important to state clearly before our enforcement unit start taking drastic action on dirty environment, canals and wetland," he said. He also revealed that his administration has tried to touch human life significantly through health, education, works and infrastructure, as well as environmental services.
Prince Wasiu Agoro did not drop the mic until he warned the aclaimed street owners to follow due process. "Street naming is a responsibility of the local government, it is however unlawful for anyone to ignore the due process," he warned. The Chairman further stretched that his administration will in no time make sure that the Council permanent site and ultra mothern Imota Town Hall come to real.
The audience were later engaged with series of views on how to move the LCDA forward. Brilliant submission from HRM Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Agoro, Ranodu of Imota, who applauded the uncommon gesture of the Chairman. Traditional Chiefs, CDAs, Market leaders, Transporters, Artisan, Students, amongst others, were also contributed meaningfully well to the Y2019 budget.
According to them, they all applauded the uncommon leadership quality of Prince Wasiu Agoro, who had taken seriously the welfare of his people. Prince Agoro was said to have been running a government of inclusion and considered the people's interest as priority. They also enjoined the Chairman to improve more on security, healthy environment, grading of inner roads, amongst others, which were all noted by the Chairman.
Attention was later shifted to other event, where the Council Chairman, Prince Wasiu Agoro, extended his kind gesture, by making a record in the history of Ikorodu Division, to be the first Chairman to have doled out fifteen official Toyota Vehicles to his Vice, 4 Councillors, 6 Supervisors, HOA, Council treasurer, amongst others for effective service delivery.
While presenting the car keys to the recipients, HRM Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Agoro prayed for the recipients and enjoined them all to be worthy Ambassadors of Imota LCDA. "I hope the cars would be used to ease your official assignments," the Monarch said.
Responding on behalf of the recipients, the Vice Chairman, Hon Sunday Ayodele Benson, said to Shakiru Seidu of MegaXpression Community Magazine, that the recipients are so elated for the kind gesture exhibited by the Chairman. He thanked and reassured the Chairman that the purpose will not be defeated and will be dutiful as expected of them.
The Event had several prominent dignitaries in attendance, these include the Ranodu of Imota, HRM Oba Mudasiru Ajibade Agoro, APC Chairman, Imota LCDA, Hon Ramoni Akinyemi, Chief Imam Imota Central Mosque, CAN President Imota, members of Legislative Arm, Supervisors, Special Assistants, Management, and Staff of Imota LCDA. Others were the Party leaders, security operatives, NIREC, NURTW, CDC, CDAs, LASCOTA, Artisans, members of All Progressives Congress, APC, amongst others were in attendance.
