After launching campaigns to woo electorates, All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon SOB Agunbiade and his counterparts in AD, ANN and ADC, on Sunday, clashed on different issues and vowed to tackle the Ikorodu traffic, infrastructure and security challenges through legislative means.
Hon SOB Agunbiade of APC, Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon Abayomi Shamsideen of AD, Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon Adegoke Ademola of AD, Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon Rotimi Balogun of ANN, Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon Adeyemi Odofin of ADC, Ikorodu Constituency I and Hon Adeola Oyebajo of ADC, Ikorodu Constituency II, spoke at Ikorodu Division Lagos State House of Assembly Debate, organised by the founder of R.E.A.L Initiatives, Mr Oluwaseun Elesho, in conjunction with Ikorodu Division Youth Movement.
The debate started peacefully with candidates reeling out their curriculum vitae and their vision for their Constituencies, proffer solutions on Ikorodu Division challenges. They stressed to facilitate a bill to end the traffic that had crippled business opportunities within Ikorodu Division.
Hon Agunbiade Speaking on the affected issues said he would continue to power bills that would be of benefit to his constituents. While reeling out things that would be done when re-elected. The APC candidate argued that the Lagos State House of Assembly is not leaving any stone unturned to make lives meaningful to the residents of Lagos State.
On cultism, Hon Agunbiade put the blame on 'Ajagungbales', which had being the genesis of the whole scenario. He vowed not to relent, as he had sponsored a bill on 'Ajagungbale' which was passed into law recently to cub the menace.
He also argued that the 16 years of governance of PDP at the federal level had lead the Country to epileptic power supply and poor infrastructure. "PDP have done us evil in this country and they must not be allowed again", he added.
After series of robust arguments, the debate ended with the candidates signing the peace accord to have smooth and violence free elections.
While speaking with the Convener, Mr Oluwaseun Elesho, he revealed to MegaXpression Community Magazine that the debate is aimed at engaging the candidates and to allow them to come together and tell the people of Ikorodu Division about their reasons to contest.
The PDP candidates, Hon Lamina of Ikorodu Constituency I and Hon Abiodun Moshood Aro-Oyenuga, AMA of Ikorodu Constituency II were both absent at the debate.
