MARCH 9 POLL: BABAJIMI BENSON TASKS NIGERIA UNION OF TEACHERS, PARENTS FORUM IN IKORODU DIVISION TO VOTE APC CANDIDATES. | Shakiru Seidu. LGEA, NUT Chiefs assure of over 4,000 teachers' votes for APC.

Hon Babajimi Benson, MHR, Ikorodu Federal Constituency, has urged the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, Ikorodu and Parents Forum, PF, Ikorodu Division, to vote All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates during the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

JB, as he's popularly called, made the call on Tuesday during the meeting with Members of NUT and PF at Ayangburen Primary School, Ikorodu.

He commended the good people of Ikorodu Division for their support and votes for President Muhammadu Buhari and himself during the Feb. 23 elections. The erudite legislator also urged the electorates to continue to support APC by voting for Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu as Governor, Hon SOB Agunbiade and Hon Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka, to represent Ikorodu Constituency 1 & 2 respectively at the Lagos State House of Assembly, during the forthcoming elections.

“I want to appeal to over 4,000 Teachers in Ikorodu Division to continue to support and vote all APC candidates during the March 9 elections. Don’t relent in your efforts towards ensuring the victory of APC candidates in your various polling units,” JB said while speaking with MegaXpression Community Magazine. 

He canvassed for maximum votes for APC candidates, as it was done to him in the last election. Besides, he urged the electorates to shun violence before, during and after the elections.

The Executive Secretary, ES, Local Government Education Authority, LGEA, Ikorodu, Hon Taiwo Oduloye, also drummed support for Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, Hon SOB Agunbiade and Hon Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka to enable them deliver the much needed dividend of democracy to the people of Lagos State and Ikorodu Constituency 1 and 2 respectively.

He further enjoined Babajimi Benson to help facilitate the improvement on teachers welfare, feeling the vacuum of over 450 vacancies among the non teaching staff in Ikorodu LGEA. He further insisted the increase on the voting margin for APC in Ikorodu Division.

Also speaking, NUT Chairman, Comrade Oluwaseun Fakolade, who spoke during the meeting, also urged the numerous Teachers in Ikorodu Division to vote all APC candidates during the forthcoming elections. He commended the Teachers for working tirelessly for the victory of President Buhari and Hon Babajimi Benson in the February 23 elections.

Comrade Fakolade said teachers of Ikorodu Division will always follow the Progressives. He applauded the uncommon gestures of Hon Babajimi Benson, pleaded with him to facilitate secondary school as usual at Ori-Okuta town, Ikorodu. He assured that the APC will have the votes of over 4,000 teachers in Ikorodu Division on March 9. "Ikorodu Division will get the best with the influence of Babajimi Benson," Fakolade revealed.

He further enjoined all to vote Mr Babajide Sanwoolu, Hon SOB Agunbiade and Hon Nurudeen Sholaja-Saka on March 9.

Earlier, the Chairman, Parents Forum Ikorodu said that meeting Hon Babajimi Benson was aimed at strategizing on how to mobilise support for the victory of APC candidates come March 9. He urged all to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities, live in peace and tolerate one another.
