Ibrahim Lawan, Lagos East Senatorial district and family of late Sen. Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo, who died on Monday, at age 64.

The death of the first-term senator, popularly called ‘Pepper’ was described by the former Lagos Central Senator and Minister of the federal Republic of Nigeria, Sen. Musiliu Obaniko, as a big loss to the APC, National Assembly and Nigeria, stating that the death was sudden and it's a painful loss to Lagos State. "He will be greatly missed in our Party," he said.

Obanikoro, in a statement made available to MegaXpression News described Sen. Osinowo as one of the frontline party leaders who worked assiduously to entrench the APC in the South-West, stressing that he always made himself available to serve the party whenever he called upon.

"Osinowo's humanity was extraordinary. I recalled with nostalgia his unexpected visit to me in Atlanta in 2016, during my tribulations. When I heard of his sickness, I felt it was just a matter of days for his recovery. However, almighty God once again reminded us who is in charge.

“This is a clear testimony to the fact that we should not take life for granted. This, indeed, is a big loss. I pray to Allah to rest his soul in perfect peace and grant his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Obanikoro added.

Also speaking with MegaXpression News was another APC leader, Prince S.A.O. Sekoni, who said the late Osinowo was known for his commitment to the promotion of legislations to enhance good governance, particularly in the area of education, infrastructure and social amenities.

"Many who crossed path with the late senator described him as pleasant and accommodating. He was an astute politician, fine lawmaker, social crusader, successful businessman, humanitarian and a philanthropist," He added.

Sekoni therefore condoled with his immediate family, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Lagos East Senatorial, National Assembly and the people of Lagos State.

On his part, Alhaja M.A. Ajao, also in the same vein expressed shock at the death of Sen. Osinowo. She equally offered her condolence to the family, his senatorial district, Lagos State and the Senate.
