IGBOGBO MONARCH HOSTS COMMANDING OFFICER OF NIGERIAN ARMY, 174 BATTALION ODOGUNYAN, DISCUSSES FORMIDABLE SECURITY ALERTNESS OF HIS DOMAIN. ...As Lt. Col. Inya reiterates commitment for zero tolerance against cultism, land grabbing, other unlawful activities.

The Palace of Adeboruwa, Igbogbo was on Tuesday played host to the presence of the newly transferred Commanding Officer of 174 Battalion, Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Colonel N.U. Inya, by HRM Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Chiefs and Baales. The Commander, who was accompanied by some of the Army personnel, thanked the Monarch for the warmth reception and shared view on how to cub the security challenges facing the domain.

In his address, the Balogun of Igbogbo Kingdom, Chief Jelili Oduntan, welcomed the new Commanding Officer and further narrated some of the security challenges facing Igbogbo and its suburbs, noting the undue unrest causing by the cultists. Chief Oduntan beseeched Nigerian Army to look into the matter intently with urgent attention.

Also, High Chief Tajudeen Alade  Onasanya, the Odofin of Igbogbo kingdom, in his eloquent remarks charged the 174 Battalion Squad, especially the Commander, Lt. Col. Inya, to follow the tread of his predecessors, stating that the issue of land grabbers and cultists should be looked into.

The Odofin advocates for unflinching synergy between the Army officers, Police and the local security operatives in order to enhance smooth synergy among them and protect the lives and properties of the citizenry.

In his response, the newly transferred Commanding Officer, 174 Battalion Odogunyan, Lt. Col. Inya, promised to be proactive and not to relent on his effort to kick against crimes, particularly cultism and land speculation or grabbing. He also reiterated his zero tolerance for corruption and improper behaviour in the society, noting that non of his officers will be allowed to get involve in land matters.

Inya further assured of effective synergy between the 174 Battalion Odogunyan and the DPOs across Ikorodu Division to get things done properly. "By God's grace, there won't be any fiction between us and the Police, we will always work as one to achieve a common goal even if it is in different ways," he added why responding to questions from MegaXpression Community News.

In his royal remarks, the Paramount ruler of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, HRM Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, applauded the visit of the Commanding Officer to his Palace, noting that a serious community must be security conscious.

According to him, "your visit to Igbogbo couldn't have come much  better time than this period, that is to tell you that we appreciate your coming at this point in time when the whole of the Division is in need of attention as far as the security is concern, no community or society can survive without security".

"We are saying people should come and invest in our community while some undesirable elements are just committing trouble and killing themselves. So how will the investors come and invest here? He added.

The Monarch lamented on the activities of Cultists and land grabbers, urging Lt. Col. Inya to flush them out of Igbogbo and Ikorodu Division as a whole. He further enjoined residents of Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA to assist the security operatives to combat these challenges.

Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
