IKORODU APC LEADERS EXPRESS UNPLEASANT SURPRISE OVER SEN. BAYO OSINOWO'S DEATH. Ogunleye, Basorun, Ogunlewe, Kaoli, Akinsola, Abiru, others mourn, send condolence messages.

Some chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday described the death of the Senator representing Lagos East senatorial district, Sen. Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo, as shocking. The Mega Xpression Community News reports that Sen. Osinowo died on Monday at the Lagos Cardiologist center Ikoyi.

On till his death, Hon. Adebayo Oshinowo, who's also known as Pepperito, was a Nigerian Businessman and Politician. He was a member of Lagos State House of Assembly between 2003 and 2019 before he was elected as a Senator to represent Lagos East Senatorial District in 2019. He died Monday, June 15, 2020, at the age of 64.

Former Minister of Works and Infrastructure, Sen. Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, in his comment said he was devastated by Sen. Osinowo’s sudden demise. He described Sen. Osinowo as a gentleman who was committed to the unity and progress of APC. "He is a peacemaker and a friend of all. This is a great loss for the APC family. It is so sad that we have lost him," Ogunlewe added.

In the same vein, the former deputy Governor and member, Governor's Advisory Committee, GAC, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, described the death as sad. He prayed for the peaceful repose of his soul. “I pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and the fortitude for the family to bear the irreplaceable loss,” Ogunleye said.

Another GAC member and former SSG Lagos State, Asiwaju Olorufunmi Basorun, said Sen. Osinowo’s death was an unpleasant surprise, noting that it was painful that he died on duty for the progress of the APC, Lagos East senatorial, and Nigeria in particular.

"I commiserate with our APC members, leaders in the Lagos East Senatorial District, and the family of distinguished Senator Sikiru Adebayo Osinowo (Shehu) on his passing on to greater beyond and pray that God will give us the fortitude to bear the great loss and comfort all of us," Basorun stated.

Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, APC East Senatorial Vice Chairman and former Commissioner for Agriculture, also mourned the demise of Sen. Bayo Osinowo. "Very sad to hear about the passing of Pepperito. His contribution towards the success and stability of APC in Lagos State is indisputable. He was a great believer and defender of democracy," Kaoli stated.

In her reaction, a member of Lagos Seventh Assembly and former Ag. Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, described Sen. Bayo Osinowo's death as painful and sad. She said the deceased was always responsive and desirous that things should be done properly in Lagos APC, an example he showcased when they served together at the Seventh Assembly.

“Osinowo was a true politician with zeal for progressive leadership. I pray our Party would get somebody like him. We should learn to be simple and take quest for offices very selfless. I pray that the Lord will bless his soul and give his family and our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu the fortitude to bear the loss,” Akinsola said.

Also, the former Clerk, Lagos State Hoyse of Assembly and former Senatorial Aspirant, Otunba Olusegun Abiru, expressed shock and sadness at the untimely death of the Senator Osinowo. He described 'Pepper's' passage as a monumental loss to Lagos APC and the entire progressive party as a whole. 

"Pepper was a great politician of no mean feat. He would be missed by the progressive family as an undiluted party loyalist and grassroots mobiliser who contributed immensely to the enthronement of progressive politics in Lagos State", he said. 

Among those that have equally expressed worries and sent condolence messages were the House of Reps member, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on Defence, Hon. Babajimi Adekoge Benson, Lagos Majority leader and Opomulero of Ikorodu Kingdom, Hon. Sanai Oyeniran Bolanle Agunbiade, Representative of Ikorodu Constituency II and Chairman House Committee on Public Account, Hon. Nurudeen Saka-Sholaja, DG of Lagos State Sports Commission, Prince Toyin Gafaar Bolowotan and former House of Reps Aspirant at Amuwo Odofin, Prince Lanre Sanusi, PLS.

Others are the Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Mr Wasiu Adeshina, Bldr. Olusesan Mayokun Daini of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Comrade Fatiu Salisu of Ijede LCDA, Prince Wasiu Agoro of Imota LCDA, Bldr Adeola Adebisi Banjo of Ikorodu North LCDA and Princess Jumoke Jumbo-Ademehin of Ikorodu West LCDA, Otunba Ayodele Elesho, Hon. Dr. Muhydeen Jokomba, Princess Folashade Olabaji-Oba, Otunba Fatai Olukoga, Mr Shakiru Seidu, Comrade Kehinde Okeowo, the 6 LGA Party Chairmen and 30 Wards Chairmen across Ikorodu Division.
