ODUSANYA, AMUSA, OTHERS SWEAR-IN AS NEW EXECUTIVE OF NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA, IGBOGBO/BAYEKU LCDA BRANCH. ...As the Council Chief, Bldr. Olusesan Daini charges them to be honest and God fearing towards the discharge of their duties.

Newly designated members of executive of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Branch, have been inaugurated. The Inauguration which took place at the Council Secretariat, Igbogbo, attracted youth leaders and the leadership of the council, past and present, from the state and the Local Government Area.

Speaking in an opening remark, a senior Comrade, Chairman Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA and Publicity Director of Conference 57, Lagos State, Bulder Olusesan Mayokun Daini, called on the youths to be proactive for the purpose of their prosperity and the development of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.

"I congratulate the newly executives of Igbogbo/Baiyeku National Youth Council. You have a lot of tasks ahead of you and it's not a child's play. It took so much time, even after consulting the traditional institution, the leadership, the community based group and the movement before we come out of this list. It was an agreement between the entire youth structure of the Local government.

"You have to carry everyone along and be sure that communicating with you is communicating with the other youth in the LCDA, and getting in touch with you is getting in touch with others. You have to also try as  much as possible to be truthful and honest. Don't be sentimental, tribalistic and try to serve the youth in total honesty with fear of God," Daini said.

He equally stated that "carrying the logo of National Youth Council directly or indirectly makes you become Ambassador of National Youth Council henceforth, and whatsoever you do today will not only be seen as your person but as an elected representative of National Youth Council. So represent the National Youth Council very well and try as much as possible not to destroy what our leaders had built for years.

"You have the full support of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA in carrying out and discharging of your duties and responsibilities genuinely, faithfully and truthfully. If you deray from any of this, I might call for the withdrawal of the support and I will officially report you to the state body that the trust given to you has been betrayed."

"I will be glad to tell you have an office is ready, one of our five hundred capacity Hall that will be majorly for the building of the activities of the youths. You will be taking over because the Hall have been handed over to us by Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun.

"I therefore task and charge you to come up with programmes, projects and activities to engage that Hall and the entire youth of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, you have my total support. Come up with programmes and ideas because ideas rule the world. Whatsoever you bring will determine my response and I can assure you that you won't be disappointed with the support of the council," Daini added.

In his own view, The Chairman, State transition committee, Mr Kayode Odunuga, congratulated the new Exco, urging them justify the trust impose on them. He promised to ensure that the voices of Nigerian youths were heard at all levels of governance.

Odunuga appealed to Odusanya led team to work closely with agencies, great minds and other stakeholders to move Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA to the next level.

In his response, the newly sworn in NYCN Coordinator, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Mr Lateef Odusanya, expressed great honour and enthusiasm over the honor bestowed on him, saying it's a call to serve.

"Upon my election as coordinator, the first is the age, agility and intellectual capacities of persons I am about to lead, however I have been daunted by the depth of my vision and the enormity of goals I set to achieve for this organization. It is with this conviction that I most earnestly identify with this cause as it is our cause as well.

"I must also acknowledge that this journey cannot be travelled alone hence, I appreciate the constitution of this noble organization in recognizing other portfolios to join in this journey and the efforts of stakeholders. With the caliber of people on the team, their devotion and vision, I am convinced it is going to work and it is a success already," he said.

Odusanya therefore extended his appreciation to some great individuals that made it a reality. "I take this opportunity to appreciate our indefatigable Kabiyesi, HRM Oba Abdul-Semiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, the ever performing Chairman, Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Daini and many others who made today a reality. God bless you all.

"I believe I will justify the confidence reposed in me by elevating the brand to the most enviable height", Odusanya assured.

In his remarks, the former Coordinator Youth Council, Igbogbo/ Baiyeku LCDA, Comrade Hameed Sholanke, enjoined the new Executive to have a plan and the plan must spread across the Wards, noting that the Youth Council is not basically Igbogbo youth council but Igbogbo/ Baiyeku Youth Council.

"Today, you have the opportunity that you have a young  Chairman that we did not have during my time and you also have him to support you. Infact I'm surprise he gave you office immediately while we search for office for almost three years before we have one without no single chair.

"For me you have every opportunity to deliver your duties without no excuses and I am ready to guide and support you whenever you ask from me," Sholanke said.
