The ambience of residents of Ikorodu Community in Ikorodu local government of Lagos State adorned a merrily look on Saturday, April 10, as the Chairman, House Committee on Defence, at the Lower Chamber of National Assembly, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, performed the groundbreaking for the reconstruction of four rural roads in Ikorodu Local Government.
The roads which include Ayangbedejo Street, Ajoke Oduyebo street, Kaz Avenue and Nike Olubodun Street in Onishigida area of Sabo, Ikorodu, were said to be completed in 4 months.
According to the erudite lawmaker while speaking with MegaXpression Media, said when delivered the roads in four months' time, it will make the primary and secondary schools situated at that area easily accessible, not only for the pupils, but for teachers, parents and citizens who live and conducts their businesses there. "It will also serve as an alternative route to connect the Ikorodu-Ijebu expressway without having to go through Sabo road," he added.
Also, Rep. Benson used the opportunity to give praise to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Speaker of House Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila for their support towards the actualization of these projects.
While equally commended and appreciated the cooperation and understanding of residents and CDAs that are directly affected by the roads expansion, Rep. Benson assured them of working assiduously to ensure the projects are completed within the time frame given.
