Speaking with MegaXpression Media during the inspection tour, Rep. Kabir said it's part of the oversight of projects in Lagos, South West, noting that Ikorodu/Shagamu road deserves serious attention because of its importance to the economy of Nigeria and West Africa.

He said the oversight was to address funding, technical and other issues affecting quality and fast road delivery in Lagos State. "This project is very important to us, our colleague, the Chairman House Committee on Defence, Rep. Jimi Benson, is always on our neck on this project, and as far as he is concerned, this is very critical project in the entire Lagos State and I have to support him and the people of Ikorodu," Rep. Kabir said.

He further assured that the NASS will do its best to ensure the road is properly funded to finish within the time frame. "We are working with the Ministry of Works to put this under scope. We have 2Billion for 2021, so am sure with total of 6Billion, we can be able to achieve seventy percent completion.

"We don't doubt the capacity of Arab Contractors, our only concern is their commitment. So on the issue of funding, we'll do our best to get enough funding by God's grace and according to the Ministry of Works, they have gotten to twenty six percentage," Rep. Kabir added.

Engr. Ganiyu Johnson, MHR, equally charged the Arab Contractors to be more aggressive in delivering the project. "In 2011, you did Ibeshe road, so it shows that you won't be asking for another mobilization, that was why the Hon. Minister gave you to job so that you will still be with him on the same corridor," Johnson said.
