It was indeed a historic day on Easter Monday, when the Fadugba Ogunlewe Royal Family of Igbogbo Kingdom, from far and near assembled in large number at their family house in Itun-nla ward of Igbogbo, to hold their third annual general assembly.
The Fadugba Ogunlewe Royal Family, which is under the leadership of Olori-Ebi, Dr. Akinola Ogunlewe, had in attendance at the meeting, Baba Loke, Prince Gbadebo Ogunlewe, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Member Governance Advisory Council, GAC, Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe, 16th Head of Service, Lagos State, Elder Babafunmi Oshodi, Tpl. Toyin Ayinde, former Commissioner, Ministry of Physical Planning & Urban Development, Dr. Jaiyeola Ogunlewe, Prince Oluleke Ogunlewe, a retired Banker, Prince Adebisi Ogunlewe, Dr. Yinka Ogunlewe, Barr. Dapo Ogunlewe, Lay President, UAMC, Worldwide, Engr. Gbenga Ogunlewe, Engr. Wasiu Ogunlewe, Mr Idris Adeshina, amongst others.
After a brief opening prayer by Bishop Olusola Mayungbo of UAMC Eleja, the Chairman of the Steering Committee, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, narrated the story of Fadugba Ogunlewe Royal family in Igbogbo so far. He reiterated the focus and commitment of the family leadership to ensure that the legacies of their fathers were maintained.
"We have put lots of resources in place to ensure that the Students in Fadugba Ogunlewe Royal family have excellent academic performance in their various fields. We have created Educational Endowment Fund to assist in this regard. No children of Fadugba Ogunlewe family should be sent away from school because of money. There is enough money to accommodate this," Steering Committee Chairman, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe assured.
The vocal and articulate APC Chieftain also commended the two Ogunlewes, who came out with first class in their academic pursuit. He applauded them for making the family proud and enjoined others to imbibe the same spirit.
While unveiling the Fadugba Ogunlewe Royal family projects, Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe revealed that 28th of June would mark the 50 years departure of the late Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Oba Festus Molaja Ogunlewe, adding that the family have put up lots of programs in his memory.
"We're building two blocks of Hostels with 100 students capacity each, onel in memory of late Amos Olugbosi, who's a forerunner on Education in Igbogbo. He influenced the establishment of Eleja Primary School Igbogbo and UAMC Eleja after leaving the Methodist Church. He died in August 8, 1948 and two, late Oba Festus Molaja, who played a major aspect in facilitating the establishment of Oriwu College and Teachers Training College, now Civil Service Model College Igbogbo. He died in June 1974," Aremo Adesegun Ogunlewe narrated.
"There will also be a remembrance service at late Oba Festus Molaja Ogunlewe House, beside Adeboruwa palace, Jumat service, woro carnival, visit to the Palace, commissioning of hostel buildings inside Civil Service Model College Igbogbo, among many other programs would be observed", Aremo added.
Also, Professor Yinka Ogunlewe equally explained the Fadugba Ogunlewe Education Endowment Scheme for the family members, in which Award of Excellence and Cheques were thereafter given to the Outstanding Academic Students of the family. Presentation of Cheques were also performed to the beneficiaries of Educational Endowment Scheme. These include:

Prince Oluleke Ogunlewe, a retired Banker, in the same vein, unfolded the proposed Fadugba Ogunlewe Cooperative Society, which is meant for only family members. He charged all to invest monetarily to the Thrift. "The Thrift is mainly for family members and we urge to participate by contributing minimum of N1,000 monthly," Prince Oluleke stated.
After the recitation of Oriki family by Chief Gbade Ogunlewe, Cheques were presented to the beneficiaries, followed merriment amongst the attendees.
