The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Builder Adéọlá Adébisi Banjọ, graciously received little Miss Marvellous Ohaeri, the esteemed winner of the prestigious Oba Ayangburen And The Bee 2023 contest, along with her family and representatives from the organizing team at the council secretariat on Monday, 22nd of April 2024.
Miss Ohaeri, a remarkable 10-year-old pupil of Kismet Pillars Schools, Surulere Lagos, emerged victorious after competing fiercely with nineteen other finalists from various Local Government Areas across Lagos State. Her triumph not only underscores her exceptional talent but also highlights the significance of educational growth and development among children aged 8 to 11, a core objective of the spelling bee contest.
The visit served as a platform for expressing gratitude towards the Builder Adéọlá Adébisi Banjọ-led administration for its substantial support, both financially and in sponsorship of pupils from Ikorodu North LCDA to participate in the contest, towards the success of the 2023 edition of the spelling competition. Mr. Temidayo Phillips, the Team Lead at Kismet Kiddies Entertainment, praised the unwavering commitment of the Ikorodu North LCDA to the project since its inception in 2022, emphasizing their unique dedication through tangible actions and continuous engagement.
In her heartfelt appreciation, Miss Ohaeri credited the Chairman for his inspirational leadership, expressing how the audience granted by him has ignited her ambition for even greater achievements in the future.
Responding to the accolades, Builder Adéọlá Adébisi Banjọ reaffirmed his administration's dedication to educational excellence, citing ongoing initiatives such as the provision of modern learning facilities, Back-to-School programs, and equipping classrooms with state-of-the-art equipment. He acknowledged Oba Kabir Adéwálé Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, as his mentor and father, underscoring his willingness to support impactful initiatives emanating from him. The Chairman also commended Mr. Temidayo Phillips for his vision and for effectively leveraging the opportunity to drive the project under the esteemed royal stool of Ikorodu town.
In a significant gesture of appreciation and encouragement, the Chairman announced the honour of little Miss Marvellous Ohaeri with a one-day Chairmanship position of Ikorodu North LCDA, aimed at inspiring both the organizers and potential participants of future editions of the spelling bee contest.
Accompanying the Chairman at this commendable reception were distinguished members of the council's executive: Mr. Niyi Odugbesi, the Secretary to the Local Government; Hon.
