SULAIMON KUTI, SHAKIRU SEIDU, OTHERS TAKE FRESH RESPONSIBILITIES AS DEVELOPMENT PLATFORM IKORODU DIVISION SWEARS-IN NEW LEADERSHIP. "It's a call to serve," newly President reacts.

It was another memorable day in the history of Development Platform Ikorodu Division, as the Platform sworn-in new Exco members on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

The Chairman Caretaker Committee who also doubled as electoral Chairman, Arakunrin Kazeem Showemimo, popularly known as DMI, supervised the peaceful conduct of the election and the Swearing-in ceremony.

Immediately after Showemimo appreciated members and gave good account of their stewardship as Caretaker Committee, the newly elected President, Mr Sulaimon Kuti was sworn-in, and thereafter sworn-in Oba Oshikoya as Vice President, Shakiru Seidu as General Secretary, Goke Ohunomojusi as Welfare Director and Babatunde Ilariogun as Treasurer.

In his eloquent acceptance speech, Kuti promised to ensure a productive dialogue with all members and amendment of the defects in the Association's Constitution. He also promised to engage new ideas in running the affairs of DP to enhance rapid growth and development of the Platform.

According to him, "first and foremost, I would like to acknowledge the divine blessings of Almighty Allah, whose guidance and grace have made this momentous occasion possible despite all odds. 

"My sincere and heartfelt gratitude also goes to each and every one of you for bestowing your trust in me to lead and guide the affair of our great club for the next two (2) years. I am humbled by your unwavering support and faith in my leadership. Your decision to entrust me with this significant responsibility is a testament to the confidence you have in my abilities. I assure you that I will devote my utmost dedication, passion, and energy to fulfilling the duties of this esteemed position.

"I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible work done by our previous presidents and the entire club. Your dedication, passion, and commitment have laid a strong foundation for us to build upon. I am humbled to follow in your footsteps and continue the great work we have started.

"As the newly elected president, I and my Exco will be committed to leading our club towards even greater heights.

"Together, we will embark on a journey filled with  innovation, growth, and positive impact. We will be delighted to collaborate with each and every one of you because I truly believe that our collective efforts will lead to remarkable achievements.

"Our club, "Development, Platform," has always been a beacon of inspiration and a platform for personal and collective growth. I am determined to uphold and amplify these values. Let us continue to inspire one another, support each other's dreams, and create an environment where everyone feels valued and included."

Mr Shakiru Sanni was on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, removed from his position as the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo Kingdom, after his alleged gross misconduct and disrespect to the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and traditional institution of Igbogboland. Mr Shakiru Sanni of Amoju branch, Lantan Onanusi Family in Igbogbo, was made the Olumale Eluku of Igbogbo few years back, and accused of insubordination, abused of tittle and total disrespect to the King, traditional institution of the land and Lantan Onanusi Family.
