CHAIRMAN DAINI PROPOSES 2.21 BILLION NAIRA BUDGET FOR IGBOGBO/BAYEKU  LCDA IN Y2020, SAYING IT'S A BUDGET OF DEVELOPMENT ACCOMPLISHMENT. We will look into it and ensure prompt passage, House Leader, Hon. Alimi assures.

The Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, Bldr. Daini Olusesan Mayokun, has presented an estimate of Two Billion, Two hundred and eleven Million, six hundred Thousand, eighty one naira and fifty seven Kobo (N2,211,600,081.57) to the Igbogbo/Bayeku Legislative Arm, for consideration as appropriation for the 2020 fiscal year.

While presenting the budget estimate tagged, “Development & Accomplishment”, Bldr. Daini, described it as a major milestone in the life of his administration, adding that the importance of budget in any organization, is to direct the financial transactions within a fiscal year.

According to him, "I stand before this honorable House to present the proposed Budget for fiscal year 2020 for consideration and passage as fulfillment of the requirement for democratic government. The proper yearning and application during the stakeholder form held on 25th November, 2019 guided the structure of proposed budget.

"This year's Budget is on development track and political will to this administration from Transformation & Development in 2018, Continuity & Development in 2019 and Development & Accomplishment in 2020, sequence with Lagos State projection. The rapid population increase put forth pressure on the available infrastructure which necessitated more reconstruction and rehabilitation. The year 2019 Budget performance recorded 93% of approved budget. N1,698,439,688:43 and expenditure N1,048,531,120:07 to undertake series of meaningful projects.

"The year 2020 proposed Budget has been properly securitized and tuned to take care of the aspirations of the people in terms of general development of our Local Council Development Area and welfare of the people, through provision of roads and other infrastructure, poverty alleviation programme, improved health care services upgrading of our primary school and channelization of canal", the Chairman said. 

Daini further stated that the excess crude oil (proposed) is N2,090,597,589.10, 10% from State Grand/Allocation (proposed). State coordinated Revenue i.e Land Used charge, Wharf landing, LASSTRA (proposed). N65,396,386.66 and Internally Generated Revenue (proposed) N55,606,105.81. Saying the total Budget size proposed for year 2020 is N2,211,600,081.57. 

On proposed expenditure, the Chairman said "Overhead is N583,121,604.96, while Capital expenditure will be N630,501,775.89. Personnel cost, N446,636,726.20 and LG Staff/Teachers Salary will cost N531,121,604.96".

Daini further urged the leader of the Council and other Councilors to hasten  the approval of the proposed budget for year 2020. He later stated his sincere pleasure to the Royal Heads in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, community leaders, the legislative and the executive arms of the LCDA, the staff and indeed all citizen of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA for their unflinching supports for his administration.

"The support and cooperation we have enjoyed from you so far have been source of our motivation and inspiration. We will always count on you and continue to solicit for your unalloyed support," he added. 

In his eloquent remarks, the legislative leader and President of Councillors Forum in Nigeria, Hon Nurudeen Alimi said the budget presentation is essential beyond its constitutional stipulation, saying it's requires the backing of law to make it implementable and executable, without which it becomes an offence punishable under the law.

"The House would never be deterred from doing its work and we are ready to support Daini's led administration and to ensure that our electoral promises are achieved and delivered promptly. We shall promptly and diligently commence work on the year 2020 Budget by given it easy and speedy passage," Hon. Alimi said.

Among those that attended the Budget presentation were His Royal Majesties, Oba AbdulSemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo and Oba Richard Abayomi Ogunsanya, Olubeshe of Ibeshe, who were both represented by their Chiefs.

Others are APC Chieftain, Chief Adenrele Olowu, former Ag. Commissioner and member seventh Assembly, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, member sixth Assembly, Hon. Gbenga Oshin, first and second Chairmen, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Prince Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa and Prince Adegbenga Basanya, former Sole Administrator, Mrs Bolanle Basorun, APC Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Alhaji Sefiu Ogunyemi, amongst other party leaders.
