JUBILATION AS JIMI BENSON FLAGS OFF FIRST PHASE OF ORI-OKUTA ROAD CONSTRUCTION IN IKORODU. | Shakiru Seidu. …Says 1 kilimeter road would be completed in 12 weeks.

A crowd of joyous residents in Ori-Okuta of Agric/Owutu, Ikorodu, Lagos State, on Saturday trooped out to receive Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, who was in their domain to flag off rehabilitation of Ori-Okuta road, giving the residents the feeling of long sought relief, MegaXpression reports.

In his eloquent address, Benson said: “Today’s event is remarkable, not just for me personally, but for the people of Ori-Okuta community in Ikorodu, who will directly benefit from this project. The flag-off of this project is the beginning of the much needed relief we are bringing to our people on this axis.

“I am here today to answer people’s request, which has now being translated into reality. It is a 1 kilimeter road which is starting immediately and by the grace of God, it shall be completed in 12 weeks”.

JB, as he’s fondly called, described Ori-Okuta community as a key component of Ikorodu West LCDA, assuring residents that he’ll remain committed to reviving infrastructure in Ikorodu Division. Noting that the projects were not being done to score cheap political points; rather, he said he considered it as right of the people who had been longing to benefit from dividends of democracy.

Benson, who’s the Chairman House Committee on Defence, further disclosed that the Ori-Okuta road projects would create a chain of job opportunities for residents living around Agric/Owutu area, pointing out that the Contractors had agreed to engage community members in informal work and supply of materials.

Among those in attendance were the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, Ikorodu West LCDA Chairman, Hon. Sulaimon Olarewaju, represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Adesegun Aluko, Chief Imam Sheikh Mushafau Kosoko, Alhaji Lawal Animashaun (De-Cubano), Hon Gabriel Olusesan Dada, Prince Adeniran Ogunbanwo, and others.
