DR. ADEOLA BANJO VISITS AYANGBUREN, OGUNLEWE, EXPRESSES GRATITUDE OVER HIS 10 YEARS TENURE AS CHAIRMAN IN IKORODU NORTH LCDA.
Former Executive Secretary (E.S) and the immediate past Chairman in Ikorodu North LCDA, Dr. Adeola Adebisi Banjo, has paid another courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom and Senator Kingsley Adeseye Ogunlewe, former Minister of Works and Infrastructure and Member Governance Advisory Council, GAC, in Lagos State, to express appreciation for their unwavering supports during his tenure as the Council Chairman for years.
The former Chairman said the visit was an opportunity to thank the traditional and political leaders for backing his administration, and for standing by him during key moments in his leadership journey.
According to him, "I stand before you with a heart heavy with gratitude… and lightened by the knowledge that my journey was never a solitary one. In the corridors of leadership, there were moments, when strength faltered, when vision was blurred, and when the winds of challenge blew without mercy. In those moments, I found not only my footing, but my compass in your steady gaze, and in the unwavering hands of those we all recognize and acknowledge as the living testaments of honour in Ikorodu.
"Ten years ago, I was sent forth… not in my own name, but under the banner of service. The river of responsibility could have swept me away, yet it was your watchful eyes that guided my strokes… and your enduring belief that kept me afloat.
When the call returned, you did not merely endorse my service, you affirmed my purpose. And when the tides swelled again, threatening to overrun the shore, you became the walls that would not crumble.
"And so, having had the privilege to serve, I took my bow from office, but not from the journey. Let it be said that though I stepped down from position, I did not step back from purpose. Standing, serving, working, and walking with a group of like minds whose sole resolve is to ensure that the best of us shall define the rest of us politically, economically, and artistically, I am still here… delivering the commands of our elders."
In his royal remarks, HRM Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi commended Dr. Banjo for his sense of vision and commitment to the growth of Ikorodu. He noted that Dr. Banjo’s legacy in Ikorodu North LCDA is evident and that he has built a political arena for himself. He expressed his support for Banjo's future endeavors.
Shotobi further noted that Banjo’s contributions to the growth of Ikorodu North LCDA were evident, citing in particular the construction of a modern legislative chamber, which he had the privilege of commissioning. He expressed confidence that the edifice, along with other projects initiated under Banjo’s leadership, would stand as enduring legacies of his administration.
Also, at the residence of Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, in Apalura, Igbogbo, the GAC member, equally praised the former Chairman, noting that he was not surprised by his achievements, because he had learned valuable lessons from home.
Ogunlewe insisted that Dr. Banjo’s achievements in Ikorodu North LCDA were not surprising, given his commitment to serving the people and taking care of their welfare. The Senator prayed for Dr. Banjo’s continued success, expressing his hope that Almighty God would uplift him beyond his expectations.
The TMM Leader thereafter presented an Award of Recognition to Dr. Adeola Banjo, on behalf of TMM Ikorodu Division, honoring his outstanding achievements in office as Chairman.
In the same vein, Hon.
