It was all glitz and glamour in Igbogbo on Saturday, November 29, 2025, when the Community ends its 37th Igbogbo Day festival in grand style. The venue, Zumratul Islamiyyah Grammar School Igbogbo, was filled to capacity with people of high profile personalities and Indigenes of the community in attendance.
Royal Heads, Senators, Lawmakers, Business Moguls, Scholars, Council Chairmen, Others in attendance. Also, Clubs, Groups and Associations, Artisans and Traders at the venue, had enough space to sit while guests were also comfortably accommodated. Music was blaring from within the canopies leading to a cacophony of sounds, while a fuji Star from Ibadan entertained the audience with his lovely music.
While addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the Day congratulated Igbogbo Monarch, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, on the 37th Igbogbo Day celebration, noting that the Monarch is a royal colossus, who has remained consistently consistent in the progress and development of Igbogbo Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, acknowledged the leadership quality of Igbogbo Monarch, stating that the annual Igbogbo Day is a rallying point for all Igbogbo indigene to pay homage to the Adeboruwa and collectively share thoughts on how to take Igbogboland to the next level of social and infrastructural development.
"I enjoin all to continue giving the Kabiyesi and the Council Chairman, Omo'ba Hammed Aroyewun, the needed collaborative support and cooperation to foster economic prosperity for the upliftment and development of Igbogbo Kingdom," Benson pleaded.
Earlier, the Chief Host and Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun HOA, in his eloquent message, congratulated the Igbogbo Monarch, members of IDEA and the Organisers of 2025/26 edition of Igbogbo Day, for the successful celebrations.
Aroyewun noted that the Igbogbo Day festival had become a global tourist attraction in showcasing the cooperation and collaborative tendencies of the rich Yoruba culture, saying it has become a unifying traditional festival in the land.
Chief (Dr.) Omotunde Ogunlaja, President, Igbogbo Development Association, also in his remarks saluted the Kabiyesi, HRM Oba Semiudeen Kasali, and the founding fathers of Igbogbo Day Celebrations, thanking the Monarch for the privilege giving to him to serve the people of Igbogbo.
"While we are revealing and enjoying celebration of this day, we must focus on the main reason while we are gathered, which is to promote the development of Igbogbo in all its ramifications, socially, educationally, commercially and in infrastructure," Dr. Ogunlaja said.
Shortly after other few guests expressed their enthusiasm over the successful staging of this year's Igbogbo Day Celebrations, HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, appreciated all and revealed how he was impressed with this year's Igbogbo Day. He enjoined people at the helm of affairs to consider Igbogbo Community in the scheme of development.
Oba Kasali thanked Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his good work in Lagos State, while appealing passionately for the completion of Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Igbe road and Igbogbo to Bayeku road, which have made life difficult for those that are living there.
“We shall continue to witness peace, progress and development in Lagos State, Ikorodu Division and Igbogbo in particular," Oba Kasali prayed.
Thereafter, the Planning Committee Chairman, Alhaji Sheriff Jinodu, gave a warm vote of thanks, before everybody took to the dancing floor.
