MAKBET FC EMERGES CHAMPIONS OF AMA SMILE FOUNDATION UNITY FOOTBALL TOURNAMENTS, AS PAPARAZZI FA CLINCHES UNDER 17 CATEGORY. ...Monarchs, Political Leaders, Others Applaud Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro for quality representation.


The Makbet FC was on Sunday, November 9, 2025, defeated its counterpart in a penalty shootout to clinch the trophy in the All Stars AMA Smile Foundation Unity Cup Competition. While the Paparazzi Football Academy, equally emerged winner of the Under-17 category, after the trashed of Unizee Football Academy by 6 goals to 3.

The final encounters were played one after the other at the ultra modern Igbogbo Sports Stadium, which witnessed huge attendance across the Ikorodu Constituency II of Lagos State. Spectators were excited following the football artistry being displayed by the teams.

Speaking shortly after the games, the Sponsor, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro AMA, representing Ikorodu Constituency II, at the Lagos State House of Assembly, opined that the tournament has achieved its purpose, saying that all the teams played purposeful football.

The Lawmaker further stated that he has decided to sponsor the tournaments to promote unity and peace between Igbogbo/Bayeku, Imota and Ijede LCDAs, through grassroots sports development, and expressed happiness that the tournaments was successful.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, said the tournament has discovered hidden talents that have potentials to become future football champions, adding that the competition has enormous advantages to be harnessed.

“For me, no winner, no vanquished, both teams who played today, played very well and I must commend the Sponsor, Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro and other members of AMA Smile Foundation, for making it possible," Aroyewun stated.

In his remarks, the former Minister of Works and Infrastructure and member, Governance Advisory Council, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, commended Hon. AMA for his quality representation. He noted that the Igbogbo Sports Stadium is a community effort stated longtime ago. 

"The Stadium will not only boost socio-economic activities but also serve as a positive outlet for our youth, steering them away from social vices,” Ogunlewe said. He thereafter urged the Lagos State government to take proper care of the Stadium after completion.

Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, former SSG and Member of GAC, Hon. Saheed Hassan Adefarasin, among other political leaders, the ultra modern Igbogbo Sports Stadium, when completed, will pois to become a central hub for community activities, sporting events, and talent development across Ikorodu Division.
