The Monarchs, political Leaders, religious and market heads, Arewa & Igbo communities, National and State Assemblies members, Council Chairmen, Wards Councillors, CDCs, APC Stalwarts, among other Stakeholders across Ikorodu Division, have backed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for Second Term.
They made the call Monday, February 9, 2026, at a special gathering, organized for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, themed, ‘Ikorodu Unites for Tinubu', held inside the Town Hall Ikorodu, Lagos.
The Organising Chairman, Engr. Rev. Titilola Onafowokan Ph.D, in his opening address, described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR as a Statesman who took bold and difficult decisions to rescue Nigeria from economic collapse, while urging Nigerians to protect the future of the country by ensuring continuity of the current administration beyond 2027.
According to the erudite Professor, Nigeria’s economic realities before the inauguration of the Tinubu administration in 2023 demanded courageous leadership, noting many reforms that Tinubu has put in plate to shaping the futunes of the Nigeria citizens.
“The turning point of every nation is when leaders decide whether they will live for politics or live for posterity. He understood that leadership is not just about being President, but about being a statesman,” Onafowokan said.
In his eloquent remarks, the House of Reps member, representing Ikorodu federal Constituency and also called 'Civilian General' by some of his allies, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, also stressed the reasons which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR should be allowed till 2031.
Benson further stated that the Tinubu's reforms were taken not only for the present generation but for Nigerians yet unborn, urging all, to appreciate the sacrifices, and support the administration’s continuity.
JB thereafter thanked the people of Ikorodu federal Constituency for recording the highest number of votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023, and for coming first in the just concluded APC E-Registration Exercise in Lagos State, noting that these will facilitate more growth and development to Ikorodu Division.
In the same vein, the representative of the Lagos East Senatorial District at the Red Chamber, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru FCA, called on all to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, to allow him fully implement his reform agenda.
Abiru highlighted many reforms that Tinubu's administration has put in place to restructure Nigeria, adding that the construction of many major roads, establishment of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund to provide structured student loans for tertiary education, among many others.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is in his first term. We should not reinvent the wheel. Nigerians must understand this as we look ahead to 2027 and repay the courage by ensuring continuity of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration,” Abiru added.
Also, the APC Chairman, Lagos State, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, former Minister of Works and member Governance Advisory Council GAC, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, Chairman, Nigeria in Diaspora Commission, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, House of Assembly Members, representing Ikorodu 1 & 2, Hon. Gbolahan Ogunleye and Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro AMA, Commissioner for Agric, Ms Bisola Olusanya, Special Adviser to Governor on Rural, Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje, Chairman, Ikorodu Local Government, Prince Adedayo Ladega, and the former Commissioner for Agric, Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya, were all spoke one after the other to advocate unflinching support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in his re-election bid.
At the concluding part of the event, a vote of confidence was passed on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He was endorsed as the sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election. A former deputy Governor and member of the Governance Advisory Council GAC, Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, moved the motion for the adoption while the former SSG and member Governance Advisory Council GAC, Lagos State, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun seconded it.
Other prominent personalities in attendance include the Chairmen Igbogbo/Bayeku, Ikorodu North, Ijede, Ikorodu West and Imota LCDAs, Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, Hon. Ameen Apanishile, Hon. Motuntayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Hon. Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju and Hon. Sunday Benson. Hon. SOB Agunbiade, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, Otunba Ganiu Abiru, Hon. Nurudeen Saka-Sholaja, Odofin Tajudeen Alade Onasanya, Otunba Olusesan Daini, Otunba Fatai Olugoga, Hon. The gathering was fully entertained with melodious songs by the Fuji Star, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, the Olori-Omoba of Ijebu-Ode.
