The Chairman House Committee on Defence, Representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber, Abuja, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR, has again, gifted N200,000 each to 42 Law Students Graduates in Ikorodu federal Constituency.
According to him, the donation was in a bid to support education and alleviate financial challenges faced by the Students. “The financial support is designed to provide relief to our future legal Practitioners, ensuring they have the necessary financial backing to excel,” Benson opined.
The erudite lawmaker, who was ably represented by his amiable and very supportive wife, Mrs Jumoke Benson, charged the 42 Recipients to represent Ikorodu Federal Constituency with honour and distinction. She noted that the assistance was a fulfilment of JB's determination to contribute to the educational growth of Ikorodu Division, underscoring that the gesture was devoid of any political or ethnic affiliations.
“JB cherish education and one of the ways through which he can also impact our society is to give unfettered access to education and assist our students,” Mrs Benson added, while emphasising the significance of education in societal development.
Meanwhile, the DG, iCARE Foundation, Mayor Deen Sanwoola, in his eloquent remarks, congratulated the beneficiaries, noting that the initiative was borne out of realization that many law graduates are facing financial difficulties while preparing for their law school.
Encouraging the beneficiaries to excel not only in their legal pursuits but also in their representation of the Constituency, Sanwoola urged recipients to utilise their legal knowledge and future expertise to contribute positively to their communities. Asking them to play roles that'll promote justice and equity within the society, through their endeavours in legal profession.
Sanwoola further reiterated that the grant is a one-off initiative, and it is open to all residents of Ikorodu federal Constituency, regardless of their background or faith.
Also, the Executive Secretary, Local Government Education Authority LGEA, Ikorodu, Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, commended Rep. Babajimi Benson for the uncommon gesture, while urging the 42 Beneficiaries to stay focused through their academic endeavors.
