FAITH LEADERS TASKED ON 'MUSLIM IN THOUGHT', AS AROYEWUN HOLDS 7TH ANNUAL RAMADAN LECTURE OF IGBOGBO/ BAYEKU LCDA.
The Muslim Community in Igbogbo/ Bayeku LCDA, have been urged to take a more active role in promoting 'A Muslim in Thought' through their religious endeavors.
The call was made at the 7th Annual Ramadan Public Lecture organised by the Administration of Omo'ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, the Chairman Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, on Wednesday.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Omo'ba Aroyewun, described the annual lecture as a platform for moral reflection and civic responsibility, urging residents to extend the discipline and virtues of Ramadan to a peaceful coexistence.
Aroyewun further reiterated his commitment to a good governance, stressing the need for stronger collaboration between government and faith-based institutions in advancing development advocacy.
Delivering the lecture, Sheikh Lukmon Al-Mubarak, the Chief Missioner of Ansarudeen Society in IBLCDA, delivered the keynote lecture on the theme "A Muslim in Thought, Speech and Action." He emphasized that authentic Islamic practice requires alignment between internal intention, verbal expression, and external behavior.
"True faith manifests not in outward observance alone, but in the sincerity of the heart expressed through consistent righteous conduct," Al-Mubarak stated, urging attendees to cultivate God-consciousness, discipline, and integrity in all endeavors.
The Unified Igbogbo Bayeku Muslim Association presented two Awards during the ceremony. The Chairman, Omo'ba Aroyewun received an appreciation award from His Royal Majesty, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali (Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom), recognizing his sustained support for religious programs and employee welfare.
The Association also honored the Council Treasurer, Mrs. Ajayi Shakirat who is set to retire in August, for exemplifying the lecture's theme through decades of meritorious public service characterized by integrity and dedication.
Dignitaries in attendance include HRM Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali and his traditional council; Grand Imam Sheikh Gazali Abdul Ganiu Abolore; Hon. Ameen Apanisile, Chairman of Ikorodu North; Council Management Staff, and representatives from the Council of Imams. The program opened with Qur'anic recitation by Alfa Kamaldeen Mutiu and concluded with prayers led by Imam AbdulQuadri Atinla of Ikeoluwa Mosque for continued peace and progress across the LCDA.
