ISLAMIC CLERICS TASK MUSLIMS ON MORAL VALUES AS REP. BENSON'S iCARE FOUNDATION ENDS SERIES RAMADAN LECTURES IN STYLE.
Islamic scholars from Ikorodu Division, have charged the Muslim Community to continue to showcase the beauty of Islam by being an embodiment of highest moral values in the society.
The concluding session of the Series Lecture was led by the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division and Chief Imam of Ikorodu Central Mosque, Sheikh Seifudeen Ademoritan Ayinla Olowooribi, who delivered a powerful sermon emphasizing piety, moral discipline, and the enduring lessons of Ramadan, at the Ikorodu Central Mosque, on Friday, March 13, 2026.
He said the collapse of family as a reformation institution was responsible for moral decadence in the society, calling on Muslims to hold on to the injunctions of Allah and obey his Prophet in their day-to-day activities.
The Tafsir series, which traversed key Central Mosques across the Division, was not only a spiritual exercise but also a unifying platform that drew commendations from Islamic leaders who spoke in one voice in appreciation of Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson MHR for his sustained support for the Muslim community.
The spiritual journey began at the Ijede Central Mosque in Ijede LCDA, on Tuesday, 3rd of March, where the Chief Imam, Sheikh Sulaimon Olatunji Akinjobi, warmly received the iCare Foundation team. In his remarks, he offered heartfelt prayers for Rep. Benson, acknowledging his consistent contributions to Islamic causes and describing his support as a testament to unity and sincere service to humanity.
From Ijede, the Tafsir train moved to the Igbogbo Central Mosque under the leadership of the Grand Chief Imam of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Sheikh Abdulganiu Abolore Gazali. He commended the lawmaker’s inclusive leadership style, noting that his interventions transcend religious boundaries and reflect genuine commitment to the well-being of all constituents.
The Igbogbo session also witnessed the presence of the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Omo’ba Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun, who spoke glowingly about Rep. Benson’s impactful representation and lauded the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation for its numerous people-oriented interventions across Ikorodu Division.
The Tafsir outreach further extended to Ikorodu West LCDA, where Sheikh Aridegbe Kosoko Mushafau Folohunso, the Chief Imam General of Ikorodu West LCDA, praised Rep. Benson for his unwavering support for religious harmony. He noted that the lawmaker’s consistent engagement with Islamic institutions reflects a deep understanding of unity as a cornerstone of development, offering prayers for his continued success.
At Imota LCDA, the Chief Imam, Imam Adams Moruff Kolawole, also expressed appreciation, emphasizing that Rep. Benson’s financial support and commitment to Islamic leadership structures in Ikorodu have strengthened the faith community and inspired many.
Similarly, at Ikorodu North LCDA, Sheikh Raji Eniijaoba, the Chief Imam, commended the initiative, describing it as a commendable effort that fosters spiritual growth and unity among residents. He offered prayers for Rep. Benson and members of the iCare Foundation, asking for divine guidance in their continued service to humanity.
The Tafsir train also made a significant stop at the Oriwu Central Mosque, where His Eminence Yahya Olorunoshebi Oshoala Ajagbemokeferi As-Samadaani, the Chief Imam, lauded Rep. Benson’s remarkable show of religious tolerance, noting that his sustained support for Islamic programmes despite being a Christian underscores a rare and admirable leadership quality. He prayed for greater strength and wisdom for the lawmaker.
Across all six local Councils, a common theme resonated among the Islamic clerics — appreciation for a leader who has consistently demonstrated inclusiveness, compassion, and commitment to uplifting all segments of society regardless of religious affiliation.
They also collectively commended members of the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation for their dedication and prayed for the continued growth and impact of the foundation.
The grand finale at Ikorodu Central Mosque served as a fitting climax, drawing a large congregation of Muslim faithful, community leaders, and political stakeholders who gathered for prayers for peace, unity, and sustained development across Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, and Nigeria at large.
Participants described the Tafsir series as more than a religious programme, noting that it has become a symbol of unity, interfaith harmony, and community-driven leadership.
With the successful completion of the Ramadan Tafsir tour across all six councils, the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation has once again reinforced its role as a bridge-builder within the community - promoting not only spiritual growth but also peaceful coexistence and shared progress across Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
