ABIKE DABIRI-EREWA COMMENCES HOUSE TO HOUSE CAMPAIGN FOR BUHARI/OSIBAJO, EMPOWERS 100 WOMEN IN IKORODU DIVISION. | Shakiru Seidu.

The SSA to President Muhammadu Buhari on diaspora, Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa has launched a house-to-house campaign for President Buhari and Prof Osibajo of the All Progressive Congress (APC), ahead of the February 16 election. She highlighted some of the achievements of Mr President in the last few years and urged residents of Ikorodu Division to go out en-masse and vote for the party’s candidates during the upcoming general elections.

The event which took place at Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat also came alive with the empowerment of 50 widows and 50 business women, selected across the Division, to improve their businesses and standard of living.

Visibly excited by the gesture, the beneficiaries were full of prayers to Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, praising her for giving them opportunity to be useful in the society. The beneficiaries beamed with smile as they stepped forward to receive the cash.

Hon Saheed Ibikunle who coordinated the programme, advised the recipients to make good use of the money given to justify the confidence in them.

While speaking with MegaXpression Community Magazine, the SSA on Diaspora, said the empowerment of women should be a continuous programme to reduce poverty in the society. Hon. Dabiri-Erewa, who noted that the empowerment will help to increase their businesses, also said: “We were surprised with the kind of assistance people needed when we received requests from people that filled the empowerment forms. We found out that some people just needed little assistance to uplift their businesses.”

She added: “Through my party, the APC, we want to help the people of Ikorodu Division, especially the women, no matter how small. The idea is just to have a positive impact on the lives of our people here in Ikorodu. And we want you to know that APC is the party that cares about the wellbeing of the people irrespective of race or religion."

She therefore urged all to come out in large number on February 16 and vote massively for all APC candidates.
